It's the most complete game in awhile. It's not often where every aspect of the game is so carefully designed to play off each other all in respect to the overall experience. The gameplay, story, music are all in service to this wonderful horror aesthetic that goes from classic Poe/Shelly/Stoker macabre horror to Lovecraft and surrealist horror. Like how you see the statues go from completely human to something that that looks like a blob of various organs meshed together with zero pretense to any actual biological function or evolutionary sense as you progress through the game.

Bought it recently. I just beat the Blood-starved Beast, and got to the prison area.

Honestly so far the game seems really repetitive. All enemies and bosses pretty much require the exact same strategies. I liked the level design and architecture, but now everything is just getting samey. There's no sense of discovery when I find a new area or a new monster type. Also the game keeps reusing enemies with slightly better stats, but it doesn't even bother to give them a recolor or a different clothes or anything.

The weapon upgrade mechanic discourages switching weapons / experimenting. All weapons I've gotten so far seem to be very similar anyway. The clothes so far all look the same as well.

Story is nonexistent and nonsensical so far. It's typical From Software, they just made a bunch of random lore and hoped the players would find a coherent story in there somewhere.

And then last night the game straight up crashed. I don't know if I lost any progress, haven't played it since.

I've never been heavily into Soulslike games and I do like Bloodborne better than the others I've tried. But I don't think I'll keep playing.

Absolutely not the best game of the 2010s, considering that it can crash to the PS4 dashboard. Crashing console games are unacceptable.

The Witcher 3 Complete Edition is a great game on a lot of different levels, but it's an inconsistent mess. The story goes to shit after you find Ciri and the gameplay is objectively fucking piss that essentially plays itself. Also if you've read any amount of lit in your life, the side-quests are almost entirely the developers sucking the cocks of better storytellers. In terms of "cozy game you play for 50 or so hours without beating the main story then never touch again" it's probably a masterpiece. Getting through the amount of content they give to you is a chore. I still havent played the DLC since I'm so bored at level 19 on Death March.

Also it's a glitchy mess. My game crashed when I fought an Earth Elemental who was 10 levels higher then me after a 45 minute fight (which involved me repeating the same "dodge, hit 3 times, dodge" attack pattern the whole time). Apparently the rocks the Elementals summon don't vanish until the end of the fight. When they sink through the floor, their models stay there. After killing the elemental, all the rocks explode at once. The amount of rocks that had stacked up led to a complete overload of particle effects that caused the game to shit itself.
