Very straight-forward and linear. I felt like I could get the same exact experience from watching a Let's Play. That said, it's good. Very "old school FF" style gameplay and world. I like the "ring system" of the fights which make it engaging. A solid 6/10 imo. Very enjoyable if you're looking for a very particular gaming experience, which it sounds like you would like.

It's pretty decent though the battles are quite slow paced. The writing, while being one of the highlights of the game, can also be incredibly forced at times. I actually cringed when you randomly find your lost daughter you haven't seen in decades JUST before she happens to die to some unnamed disease. Can you get any more overly dramatic than that?

Super enjoyable. Very well written and an INCREDIBLE soundtrack. Pretty linear though. Definitely worth a go through.
