Literally all sniper rifles and most healer rifles are bolt action, and look/sound fantastic.
>>
>>386564910
At least it has the nugget Winchester 1895.
Also, any game that uses straight bolt like the K31?
>>
>>386563625

Sniper Elite has some neat bolt action sniper rifles.
Other than that, maybe Verdun or the RO series.
>>
>>386565054
The game is still automatic weapons spam: the game anon.

BF1 has the M95 which is a straight pull.

Yes the Assaults are pretty annoying but Scouts do get a good selection of bolt-actions, and they're more effective at range anyway so you'll likely not have to worry about getting gunned down by Assautists

RO2 and Insurgency have really satisfying bolt action rifles. My only complaint would be that, if you want to play as a sniper class in Insurgency, half the time you'll find scopes to be completely useless.

The bolt action rifle in Foxhole is probably one of the best weapons in the game. Cheap to produce ammo for as well. Build a ton for your squad then go on covert ops raids disabling enemy logistics trucks and steal their supplies to make even more guns.

Also, if I had to suggest a first bolt-action (besides a .22), I'd go with a Savage Axis or a Ruger American. A bit more expensive than a Nugget, but there's more aftermarket options, you can get them in many calibers, and they'll outshoot most Milsurp any time.

Mosin is good rifle and there's nothing wrong with its clips

>t. Guy who's only ever shot a Mosin who was poorly maintained by its Slav conscript user

A Mosin in good condition is a perfectly fine rifle. Stop getting ones in crap condition and assuming all Mosins are alike.

The problems with the mosin are results of it's design, not because they're poorly maintained. The rims need to be stacked a certain way otherwise the clips will lock up when you try and load the rifle and you need to fidget or force it. And if they're stacked the wrong way it can also cause rimlock. Loading a rifle should be as simple as possible, especially when your military is full of illiterate peasants.

And the SMLE, which also has a rimmed cartridge has fucking none of these problems. Zero.

>y-youre a wuh erraboo
Fuck off. The mosin is a shit tier rifle. Every other service rifle during the war was better, with the exception of maybe the Carcano.

M1 was obviously lightyears beyond the Mosin.
Mas-36 was better.
All of the Mauser type rifles were better
All of the Enflieds were way better.
Both of the Ariasakas were way better.

>but m-muh otherland
Right.
How many rounds have you guys put through your Mosins?
>>
>>386597538
>getting rimlock on a Nugget

The interrupter exists for a reason.

And barring semi-autos like the Garand, all bolt-action infantry rifles performed functionally identical out in the field.

this is bait but i actually kinda like the hunting rifle in FO3

it's just so shitty it's kind of endearing

The most fun I've had with a bolt action gun in a game is the Kar98k in DoD:S
You'll only be playing as the germans if you want to use it but it's not like that's a bad thing

What's a good bolt action game anyway? Is Verdun as good as the HL1 mod The Trenches at least?

r8 btw

the entire appeal of the mosin is just nostalgia at this point. when I was in high school, after you turned 18 you could go to a local sporting goods store and get one and a couple of surplus tins of 7.62x54 for $150. perfect buy with 18/yo birthday money.

Slav mosins are literal shit probably designed for Russian soldiers to eat as a last ditch effort not to starve to death - if you want a proper Mosin Nagant buy a Finnish one.
>>
>>386600473
Nah. I'd just rather something more modern and accurate.
>>
>>386601805
As said earlier in the thread, a Savage Axis is a great choice for a cheap bolt-action rifle that's not a .22
>>
>>386599653
My first rifle was a Russian SKS. The crown was fucked and it couldn't hit the broad side of a barn. Bought a nugget and put 50 rounds through it. Shit was also sending flyers everywhere. Sold both, did some research and got myself another SKS. Damn thing is a tack driver and can put a round in a soup can, standing at 150 yards consistently. Best slavshit IMO.
>>
>>386602284
Funny thing is, that's the rifle I was alluding to.
>>
>>386598209
Nothing really that bad with it actually. There's a reputation that they're inaccurate and unreliable but there's not much truth to it. Most of the hate comes from the fact that Lee Harvey Oswald supposedly shot Kennedy with one.

They also use En Blocs, which were pretty antiquated by WWII. The slot cut in the bottom of the mag where the clip poops itself out is a good place for dirt and mud to get in. But they work fine enough.

The M1 used en blocs, which is where the PING we all know and love comes from. Funny story, John Garand actually wanted his rifle to use 20 round BAR mags but the Ordnance department wanted smaller mags "so the troops wouldn't waste ammo".

Ironic since the first thing they did when they made a sequel to the M1, the M14, was give it a 20 round box magazine.

Ha, how about that.
>>386602692
This, Carcano's are fine enough. Didn't the Eye-Ties use incorrect machine gun ammo in them quite often which rendered them more inaccurate than they would've been? IIRC I also heard that when they got cut down by them, it fucked with the progressive rifling they had, furthering the accuracy issues even more.
>>
>>386580505
Fuck yeah, I remember playing this on my grandpa's apple computer. It had the Mario card game/chess and motherfucking Syndicate.
Too bad I was a shitter who just ran custom missions with an F4 vs WW2 bombers.

>>
>>386603091
From my understanding on the 91/24 Carbines had the problem since they were cut down old rifles. The 20's weren't exactly prosperous times for Pastaland, so they were cutting a lot of corners.

The 91/38s, which were the ones used most widely during the war were about as accurate as everyone else's rifles.
