Actually. To an extent you do. Of course not fully 100%. Dealing in extremes like this would naturally only end in disaster.
But that's just the thing. All this trans-acceptance thing that's became trendy lately really just looks like another extreme. Going full 100% acceptance is no path to happiness either because that undermines the fact that there actually are issues. Having issues doesn't mean you can't be a respectable human being though. If anything the majority of people have issues one way or another. The difference? Most people's issues aren't just blankly accepted.

There is still a point to adapt to society the best you can. Sure, there are safe havens for the truly dysfunctional (severe depression / autism / whatever) around, and I recognize that there are cases of extreme cases where such havens can be a good thing. But fuck living your whole life in a bubble like that. It's completely delusional. You aren't in this world alone, you can't just close your eyes and disregard the world around you and that includes their perspectives of things.

Even if you don't feel like or aren't capable of fully conforming or at the very least partially to the common norm. Or at all for that matter. You still need to take the perspective of others into consideration and adapt. If you manage to conform, then great. If you don't then you need to learn how to adapt from that premise instead. But point is, you still need to adapt.
All this "acceptance" stuff has gone way too far. Because it's like people pretend like there is nothing odd or abnormal about it. I am no advocate for lynching anyone jumping to the other extreme and claiming that none of it is acceptable. But when you can't even acknowledge that it isn't normal, then it's an issue. The problem here is that your whole tirade is "it's bad because it makes people uncomfortable.". Naivete anon. Medicine for other depression based illnesses and disorders don't work on Trans individuals and chemically neutering their brain would be counter productive when Transitioning exists. The surgery serves a purpose. the HRT serves a purpose. The purpose is in fact making them as close to biologically female as they can afford. Like I said, transitioning is a process that stops where the patient feels comfortable with their body. Some trans people feel better just expressing a bit of femininity, Some feel better just dressing as a woman but keeping their penis. Some need hormones. Some need gender reassignment and some need plastic surgery. Again the goal of transitioning is to make the person feel comfortable in their body. and it works permitted they aren't immediately attacked from all sides at the end of it. Your idea of frowning on transitioning is the problem. it creates a situation where a person will either have to hate themselves which will eventually lead to suicide or be hated by others for being themselves which will eventually lead to suicide when you could easily accept that their transition was their choice for their own mental health. But that doesn't mean that anyone should deny reality build and live in delusion. Saying that's totally fine, is in my own opinion, honestly quite disrespectful. If you actually have any respect for the abnormal, you don't tell them that they're normal. You recognize the fact that they aren't normal, and help them live with that fact while helping them recognize their strengths and weaknesses to their abnormality while also helping them to become more normal where possible/suitable. That's real help. That's real respect.

You claim that it destroys self esteem. But learning and adapting can allow you to avoid unnecessary hardships. And then if they want to take risks anyway, they would at the very least be aware of said risks and hopefully why there is a risk. And being able to avoid trouble and make informed decisions can raise ones self esteem.

And giving a kid a chance to understand why the bully bullied them is by no means harsher than the bully bullying them. And then they can choose to what extent they want to disregard the bully or not. And it'd be their choice. Leaving the kid to figure out everything on their own would just subject them to unnecessary hardships and likely hurt them much more in the long run. That's why you teach both "don't bully." and "don't get bullied.".
