Depends on your role. If you're DPS just forget about 50/60 and MSQ roulettes unless you can entertain yourself with some FATE/leve/Hunt/side-quest grind while you wait. SMN can go Miasma III -> Bio III and both of their dots will last the same 30s give or take half a second.

DRG is pretty solid. The buffs from this patch are mostly aimed at punishing scrubs less, but good players will see a damage increase too.

There will be people who are salty that their preferred changes didn't go through or that they're not kings of big dick DPS any more but most anyone who's been enjoying 4.0 DRG welcomes the buffs. The DRG in my static was happy the job got noticed at all, honestly. And looking at what SMN got they could have had it way worse.

Skill ceiling: the pinnacle of play, what it means to be "gud". I don't play SAM so I can't speak to how hard it is, but I can see why proper Kenki use on top of your buffs and normal rotation could be challenging to the type of person who considers Royal Menagerie to be an impassible obstacle.

Like holy shit I have to either take the Overheat punishment or drop GB off like a dweeb until 62. I figured. I had my healer almost geared for savage too but I dropped it and trying to find a dps I like to tackle endgame but none of the classes really mesh with me. BLM was the closest I got but the class is needlessly difficult to play and it doesn't give that much more damage than other dps classes.

It's not very realistic to expect there to be enough content that everyone likes to make you want to play the game 8 hours a day forever. Some people do like enough about the game (crafting, gathering, housing, glamour) to actually put that much time in, but others just like the battle content, and making new well-polished crap takes more time to make than it takes players to consume.

So they gate you with weekly caps and lockouts to extend the amount of time that people who want to play only battle content can spend. But, there are people who just want to consume the content a few times and then move on, and for them it's utterly reasonable to do so, then unsub until the next content that interests them comes out.

The only way to make battle content last for a long time with their development cycle is to pull a Gordias and make shit virtually impossible to do until you bash your head against the gear wall for over a month. And the playerbase as a whole fucking hated that.

To perform the rotations yeah every class is kinda easy but to keep up optimal DPS its very difficult well, to me. In a game where most of the difficulty is don't stand in the orange circles and move around like a retard for a flashy cinematic with tons of downtime BLM feels awful to play but fire 4 is satisfying. I have that issue though playing classes with timers people say BLM and MNK are easy but those are the DPS jobs I have the hardest time playing especially MNK which to me is the hardest DPS class by a country mile.

Part addiction- leveling is calming to me, though I don't have the time to devote to it that I used to. I also raid three days a week so I need to be on top of my gear for that at least. Also I genuinely enjoy the music and the aesthetics of the game. Sometimes I fly or ride out to secluded areas just to see the environments. I never got far into Skyrim, but the areas aren't as big or seamless like they are on a traditional RPG. Every field area is its own instance and you will run into invisible walls or convenient cliffs often. As long as you go in with the mindset that you can't go everywhere, there's still a lot to see and find even in the oldest areas.
