I would only buy one if it came with shitloads of PS2 games on it. Considering the size of these games and the size of hard drives these days fitting around 100 PS2 games on something the size of your pic should be entirely possible.

It's honestly my big problem with a lot of these 'mini consoles', they're a huge rip off and have like 10 games on them so the company can cheap out on the storage hardware and make a huge profit off of people's nostalgia.

Basically, when a company makes a mini-console with the 100 top rated games of that console on it, then I will buy it. Not gonna spends tons of money so that I can get some cheap piece of crap made with bottom of the barrel hardware crafted in a chinese sweatshop containing only 10 fucking games.

If they did HD remakes of some games I'd probably buy em, proper re-makes where its just a straight graphics/sound upgrade though not those ones where they change shit and say its the same game but its not really the same anymore.

They used to have PS2 Game compatibility on the 40/60 gb first gen PS3.
That wasn't emulated iirc. And using PS2 Discs causes the Lense to break quite quickly unlike the original PS2. So they ditched that.
Also the price for the first PS3 was absurdly huge.

The best way to load games from the hard drive is Open PS2 Loader. I don't believe it can rip discs itself though, so just rip them from your PC and then copy them to the hard drive with WinHIIP.

They're still emulated. Implementing trophies is about the same as in a native game (just wait for certain memory addresses to flip and certify that you did thing™) and "various enhancements" entails little more than widescreen hacks or better performance because of better hardware.
