Maybe compared to the original DS but the DS Lite has a pretty nice screen, almost comparable to the AGS-101 GBA Screen. I just picked up a Japanese DS Lite for 15$ on Ebay and it's been pretty solid.

But OP, you dun goof'd. I bought a secondhand 2DS for $60 almost a year ago and am currently enjoying my R4i card and the numerous 3DS games I've pirated. One of the best vidya investments I've made in a while.

I like the form factor. It's a little thinner than the DS lite and not as heavy as a 3ds. I don't have an XL but it fits pretty good in my hands

The only thing I can think of are the clicky buttons

Vs the lite its like cherry blues vs mushy reds and it feels so good, especially for rhythm like taiko no tatsujin and Lego rock band

Also get elite beat agents and osu takete ouendan 1 and 2

The other Ace Attorney games that haven't beeb ported to the 3DS (Apollo Justice and the two Miles Edgeworth Investigation) but you should play the first main three that HAVE been ported to the 3DS if you haven't already, that leaves you with 6 DS games and 3 3DS games counting the Professor Layton crossover.

Trauma Center is amazing both gameplay and story-wise
Also the Layton games, but you'll need a 3DS to play the second and third games (in the story) if you want to play them following the timeline.
Can't think of any others off the top of my head, maybe Super Scribblenauts because the 3DS one sucks, Animal Crossing new leaf is better than the DS version so it's not really worth it.

Seriously its probably the best Kirby game.
If you like Dungeon Crawlers try The Dark Spire, or Etrian Odyssey. Legendary Starfy, Castlevania Dawn of sorrow and SMT strange journey are also really good.
