For real time dungeon crawlers : Eye of the Beholder 1-3. If too old for you, then Legend of Grimrock 1-2.

For turn-based, I'd say Wizardry 6-8. They're a trilogy so for story purposes it makes sense to start with 6.

don't play wizardry gold it's the supposed """enhanced""" version of wiz 7 but it's a buggy pile of shit and ugly to boot, just stick to the DOS version

What do you guys think of StarCrawlers? Been playing it for a few days now and while it's fun, the visuals are great, and the music is phenomenal, I can't help but think the whole time that the game would be infinitely better if it weren't periodically generated. Also more unique classes like the Prototype you unlock throughout the campaign would've been great.
