I ended up buying it for a dollar because I know someone who worked on it. It was firmly alright. The main game sucked ass, but Murderzone is fun. I have other games to play now and I probably won't go back to it.

To be fair, that's just the easiest way for small studios to advertise games these days. Just pay a youtuber like 200 bucks to play your game for 2 days is probably the best advertisement in the world since everyone watches youtube, not so much cable now.

I think that's a fair score but I thought this game was alright. It has performance issues and some other problems but the ability to strafe jump at like mach 3 was enough for me to really enjoy it. Only have like 6 hours in it, maybe I won't get back around to playing it. I'm glad I played it.

Strafe always looked questionable at best. The limited enemy pool and the whole only having 1 weapon at a time thing were bad decisions. Dusk actually looks like a competently made game (okay enemy diversity, no hitscan weapons, decent weapon variety), the only question left is to see how the map design holds up.

Quake is still like my favorite shooter, glad to see people making a clone of it rather than Doom.
