Imagine playing not one but two great mystery games with great payoff at the end, the second of which ended in a massive cliffhanger, and then it seemed like the third game would never be made due to popularity/sales concerns even though it seemed like the third game would be a fucking masterpiece that tied both games together and wrapped them up satisfyingly. And THEN to add to the injury the director states that the secret ending of the second game was a mistake and "noncanon metafiction" to cover his own ass for having to scrap this pile of shit together on a shoestring budget. That is Zero Time Dilemma. The only redeeming factor is that there are one or two characters that are so retarded it's almost endearing and the whole thing is kind of enjoyable in a campy b-movie kind of way. Play 999 on a DS/3DS or DS emulator because the new version ruins it and the voices are awful. Play VLR too if you want a great game, but pirate ZTD if you must and be aware that the end of that road is disappointment.
