Doesn't have convex control sticks plus I don't like where they're placed.

360
Xbone
DS3
DS4
Wii U Pro
>>
DS3 is literally the greatest controller humans have ever made or will ever make. Literally every aspect of it is great. With the one subjective caveat of its general form factor. Transposing DS3's buttons and features onto the form factor of a DS4 would be the ultimate controller.
>>
>No vibration
>D-pad that becomes mushy after a few months of regular use
>Wired
>>
>>386388346

The wired part isn't bad, but yeah, the dpad is even worse than the 360's.
>>
>>386388282
360 - Dpad is shit
One - Decent but you can't use the DPAD for games like Tony Hawk
DS3 - Trash cheap
DS4 - Somehow Worse
Wii U Pro - Close but no cigar

>>386388346
F710 fixes all these problems but I just find the F310 to be better especially for the price. Vibration is a meme.
>>
>>386388537
>F710 fixes all these problems
I have an F710, and it doesn't fix the D-pad issue.

RIP just buy another one. That's what I'll do if it ever kicks the bucket.

I sold my logitech controller and with that money bought the wiiu adapter so I could natively play any game since sometimes the logitech one wouldnt work. Best decision ever, WiiU is so comfy, wireless, battery lasts 80 fucking hours and charges in like 2. And has rumble.
>>
>>386389012
How about infinite battery life since it's USB and who even cares that it has rumble, you people get stuck on things that don't matter.

my f310s wire got fucked after 2 years of use
i got f710 and its alright but it sometimes randomly disconnects

why doesnt anything i buy work perfectly?
>>
>>386389151
I could just use literally any mini usb cable and plug it into the pc and itd be the same as a wired controller. Or I could just do that for 2 hours out of 80 and have a better experience.
If you have a Wii U, the adapter is just $15. If you buy another controller at that point you're just stupid.
>>
>>386388080
DS4 would be perfect if they removed the dumbass rectangle in the middle pretending to be a trackpad and added 8 more buttons.

There's no good "middle" with that setup. With 4 face buttons, I can rest my thumb between them all and just roll it a certain direction to press a button.
If anything, 6 face buttons should be in a hexagonal formation imo.

>>
>>386392513
So why didn't you just install drivers yourself? Is this bait?
>>
>>386393115

Multiple factors:

1. iShit made rectangular bricks with no keypads popular (touch controls suck for most real-time games)
2. Most mobile games are still shit, and the few ports from consoles tend to run like ass on anything less powerful than an iPad.
3. Most people who want to play vidya on the go will just buy dedicated handhelds rather than a phone that also has some vidya-specific features.

The ship sailed years ago. At best, we've got bluetooth controllers to make playing on phones more tolerable, but we're never going to see something like that specific Ericsson model again outside of maybe some boutique build like Marshall did for an audiophile phone.

I've never had the Dpad go mushy, but the biggest flaw is the FUCKING LEFT ANALOG STICK IS ALWAYS SLIGHTLY OFF CENTER TO THE LEFT. It's been a flaw since the old Logitech DualAction and they have LITERALLY NEVER FIXED IT.

There's versions that both have vibration (F510) and are wireless (F710), IIRC.

>>
>>386395063
Nevermind he doubly fucked up because the F310 works fine in both modes even without specific drivers installed.
>>
>>386388080
I have a few complaints with it.

The thumbsticks don't have octagonal gates so you can just "lock" into various directions and on top of that the thumbsticks feels like they're too loose.

The triggers on the back are just uncomfortable, L2 and R2 I mean, the top buttons are alright.

The dpad feels like it's going to fall off.

I marathoned all the Neversoft games recently and the F310 was above serviceable to the level of 'pretty fucking good.' Just gotta hit the button to swap the analog stick and D-pad, definitely way more precise than a stick. Also always rebound Revert (from 3 onwards) to R1 instead of R2 so I didn't have any analog trigger fuckery to deal with.
>>
>>386400203
>I will give you credit though because i do think controllers need to expand the amount of buttons they need. Maybe two more buttons and some extra triggers. Although that seems like a hard sell to casuals.

This is why I fucking LOVE the steam controller though. The extra paddles + insane input customization basically lets me toggle control maps in-game.

The Xbox One had some back paddles on their expensive model, I think this is the way forward even if it's just alternative-face button input methods since in a lot of games the current face-button standard layout forces you to claw-grip the face buttons.

It's painfully obvious players are being forced to use controllers which aren't designed the way players need to use them.

>Holy fuck you're a genius.
Did the OG Xbox have analog triggers? I know the Gamecube did and playing THPS4/UG/UG2 on it always made me wonder why they put revert and switch on the squishy triggers but put run/caveman on the button. It makes way more sense to put Revert on the button because you need so much better timing for it (especially between games where the timing for a revert gets kind of fucky sometimes- looking at you, THAW) while needing exact timing for getting off your board isn't necessary unless you're playing THUG Pro online and need your frame-perfect physics glitches.
>>
