It adds more strategy and actually gives auto attacks meaning. Say those potions fly out of the enemies and you have to make the decision to momentarily stop building up your Arts with auto-attacks to grab health. It's a clever idea that the potions travel a bit away from you to so you have to go grab them. Then there's the placement strategy, which is making sure you're in the right position.
