I'm with this. Plus we havn't seen how much the gold really costs. 200 gold for a Gold chest sounds pretty fair if the price is fair, (though that's not me defending the idea of this).

I mean so long as we can get a steady income of the regular Miridan without having to just have all our fortresses be led by Marauders, then that's fine and dandy.

That said, the idea of an ingame store to buy stuff with real money in a single player game is pretty fucking stupid. But I'm sure there's noone stopping it, so all we can hope is that they find a smart way to implement them in the future without being too awful. Monolith seems to have this in mind with the whole "You can still get stuff in game via grinding/saving Silver Miridian and buying the silver boxes for free basically and crossing your fingers each time, and the gold Miridian is just for greasing the axles."
