I love this game.
What was the reception like at launch, did it sell well, has Atlus ever teased a sequel?
And why is there next to no lewds of Erica?
Catherine thread.

Very good game, it's a shame the pc version got canned
>What was the reception like at launch
jp players were casual bitches so they had to patch in very easy
in the the advertising made it look like a softcore porn game and it wasnt like persona even though it was billed as the new game from persona team so lots of people had a bad first impression
I vaguely recall it being well received. It doesn't need a sequel though, it works perfectly well as a standalone thing.

100k according to vgchartz. It's hard to tell if that's good or not.
>>Having sold 500,000 units worldwide by the end of 2011, it exceeded sales expectations.
>And why is there next to no lewds of Erica?
disgusting trap

>disgusting trap
yeaaah.. no. she's hot, no two ways 'bout it.
I'd let her take my v-card, aka pound me.

Why would you want a sequel? The game has like 5 or 6 endigs anyway, none of which could be made cannonical eithout ruining the game
>>386285046
>implying Joker isn't Vincents son
>>386285046
The sequel that I would want is one with the same gameplay but a different story and characters kinda like how they do persona games.

Never said I wanted a sequel, was wondering if they ever considered it if it sold well enough, or if it was a one n' done thing from the get-go.
I'd like to see something along the lines of Catherine again, though.
>Atlus never patched Axis Mundi
>forever denied the true ending

Well-received, no sequel yet. I honestly wouldn't want one anyway, I like when Hashino tries something new. I hope that fantasy RPG he's working on turns out good
At that point i wasnt into any weeb-ish games, i heard about Catherine by happenstance from an article in the only issue of game informer ever actually shipped to my house. Sounded interesting so i searched every game store in about 15 miles radius of my house. No one had it, i assumed it was some obscure japanese game that probably wasnt going to appeal to me as much as killzone 3 did at that time. Forgot all about it, flash forward a month and im in walmart of all places and they have one copy of it on the shelf marked down 30%, picked ut up and fell in love, led me to persona 4 and ive been ultra kawaii weebo gamer supreme senpai ever .
Also
The better question is why no western localization of the happy chicken pink gravure idol film 'Another Take on Catherine'

I wouldn't want a sequel, but I thought it would have been cool if they used this instead of the regular Succubus design in P5. I wouldn't want ti that way in all MegaTen games, but I thought it would have been a nice nod to Catherine just for P5. It's not that big a deal though.

what did he mean by this?

Yeah, I actually imported a copy. Still haven't patched DL'd the patch. It was like, satisfyingly hard. Finally clearing a level you'd spent 15 minutes working at was an incredible feeling.
Seemed like it was mostly people who didn't know the kind of game they were getting into that complained the loudest. Absolutely adored it.

I've only started getting into 'weeb' games more myself. Fell for all the 2b posting, loved the game, so gave P5 a shot. Loved that, so I'm playing Catherine atm.
They've all been amazing games, but don't know where to go after it. I tried playing P4, but... it feels really dated/dull after playing 5, probably spoiled it for myself by playing 5 first, unfortunately.
