How does Silent Hill 4 compare to the rest of the series? T

It's a bunch of interesting ideas, but it doesn't feel well executed, and it can be easy to get the bad ending if you don't know what you're doing. However, I think it's still worth playing if you want more Silent Hill, it's a very unique game.

it was the last true Team-Silent game, and still a tier or two above all the later (western) sequels. I'd say it might even be one of the freakiest games in the series.

That being said, SH4 was more experiment compared to 1-3, with some cool ideas, some bit iffy gameplay choices.

Nah, Origins is pretty good. Worse tgan the first three games, but I still enjoyed it.
If you read notes and put some thought into it, Trevis was a good protag for the series. The original enemies and bosses design was also great

No, it's absolutely disgusting. One of the two games in the series I have sworn to never ever play again.

The gameplay is awful. The visuals are shit. The manual otherworld-switching via mirrors is idiotic and ruins any tension related to its appearance. Totally-Not-PH and movie-Nurses & strait-jacket demons, because western fucks just love to copypaste the film's design.
And no, the MC and his generic "sad past" plot were not even remotely interesting, relateable or good. And since it IS literally a "SH Zero" and loves to underline this, it single handedly rapes the entire series' lore and rules.

It was very good. Some great scary moments with the apartment. The ghosts were pretty cool to. It may have been fourth best but that in no way means it wasn't good. It is a great game even with the changes they did.

you should check, its my favourite sh game in terms of plot and ambientance, the story is very good, specially if you read the silent hill plot guide, because no one wants to play the same game again and again to understand the story... and this is a game that can become boring sometimes.

I think the game had lot of potential but they surely got a limited budget to make it and that is why you had to appear in same areas you walked over before.

And thanks god its a silent hill that takes a break from the cult plot! it became so tiring, so bad it came back in following titles, this game story is more about the main characters.
