That is what I remember it being called, but anyway the point is whatever technique they used to render the plants in Crysis 1 was the most demanding thing about the game. They took it out of Crysis Warhead and the lush tropical environments look significantly worse as a result.

2007 was the last year AAA devs used innovation to define their titles.

crysis; millions of lines of code, critical and user reviews 90+, sold like a failure.

bioshock: 100 lines of broken code, a linear game with spammed with deviantart tier art assets and hokey writing, sells like wildfire on every platform.

game publishers knew from them on what type of games they were going to back.

Please, there was nothing innovative about Crysis. It was just a prettier Far Cry, identical setting and even similar story beats just with less appealing characters. The gameplay was serviceable but very few people remember Crysis as anything but a benchmark to conquer. Which is why it floundered as a franchise.
