I think part of the reason is that it starts at 50, so you go into the class with like 20+ new skills to weave together into a new rotation and the game gives you 0 instruction in that regard.

If it started at 70 that'd be fine, because I could look up an endgame rotation and learn it by smashing on a dummy and watching timers, but the entire Kenki mechanic is withheld at first- and what does the opener have you do? By burning a sen with the skill that turns sen>kenki, so immediately you can throw the whole thing out.

If you're a half-decent Healer there really should be no reason to ever have to use it during any normal dungeon or trial unless you're the last one alive for whatever reason, in which case either your party is shit for dying or you're shit for not keeping them from dying. It's only really used during Raids or Ex Trials to prevent a wipe and even then depending on how far along in the fight it is you're probably not going to make the DPS check anyway or hit enrage.

Again, there's really no reason at all to use this aside from specific mechanics in some of the newer content. You shouldn't ever have to use it during normal content even if the Healer is complete shit.

I'm not saying those people were justified for flipping out on you, but even in low level content there's hardly ever any reason to use Tank or Healer LB and it's best to save it for DPS 95% of the time so the boss can be burnt down faster.

As a MNK, just like to say, you think we care about it way more than we actually do. At least for me, I'm just trying to fill my role out, having been taught through all dungeon and party content that DPS are to use LB to kill bosses. Almost every 4-man boss, the LB does 5%/bar for melee, and 2.5%/bar for ranged.

There're even a few fights where it's possible to get multiple LB2s, though not so much anymore. (The final boss of Sohr Khai, when it was new)

The uses for healer and tank LBs are not in casual content which is clearly what you are playing.

It's kind of exacerbated by our offensive skillset being trimmed. Since you can basically only put on your token DoT and spam your 1 attack spell, it does get boring in low-level content. I tend to follow the pace of a tank, especially if they're uncomfortable with the dungeon, but sometimes it gets really tiring.

Plus, there's always one suit of armor that low-level tanks wear that instantly lets me know they're gonna be a shitter. It's their lv.35 or lv.40 armor set, I forget what it's called, but you just know they're gonna have no fucking clue what to do.

However, as a general rule, I don't see a reason why you should use it right from the start, unless your healer sucks shit. Using it as a form of mitigation in combination with your CD's while pulling large groups is one thing, popping it religiously whenever your hp drops below 70%, or using it on dps/healers at all, is extremely annoying to your healer, and messes up our rhythm.

Tank LB: Literally only over used on specific raid/trial phase transition ultimate attacks
Healer LB: Only used in raids/trials to prevent an absolute wipe such as half the party being dead including the other healer.
Caster/Ranged LB: Used in dungeons for large trash packs. Here you did it right and the other guys were retarded. Caster LB becomes more bang for your buck than single target on only THREE targets, so using it on huge packs is better.
Melee LB: This is the LB you see most often, but people use it wrong. If you're in a dungeon and have a caster/ranged, they should be using the LB on trash rather than melee using it on a boss at 1% health for some dumb montage finisher. Otherwise, melee LB is only used in raids/trials when the boss is close to dead and you know the healers won't need it.

They didn't adjust things though, and that's exactly why it's so annoying. Cleric Stance swapped MND with INT and gave you an extra 20% damage on top; now our damage spells scale off MND, which is a 20% damage nerf (assuming you're not a moron). And 20% is a lot. If a DPS class lost 20% of its damage output in the transition to Stormblood you'd hear no end to the whining; people already complain about Machinist and Dragoon.

Sure they can. Just use Synastry/Time diliation/Celestial Opposistion for your HoTs, and use your Stellar burst/Gravity spam for dps. You can always pop Lightspeed if you need insta heals.

But yeah Blackest Night is a pretty amazing cooldown. It's a shame that their entire kit is based around it but they don't get it until 70.

That is what everyone says. I'm one level away from it.
But while Blood Price is shit on its own, I like how fast it fills the gauge. This means that I can use Quietus more often, and that generates a pretty nice amount of MP. Not as good as before these changes since you need multiple targets to get a good amount of MP (while old blood price was great for both mob packs and bosses with multi-hit attacks), but not as bad as I feared.
