If only Titanfall 2 didn't have the retarded progression system and enabled dedicated servers, we could see a resurgence of Team Fortress 2 like casual shooter - custom maps, custom rules (like a better TTK), smaller player limits etc. With a few tweaks like that, (and marketing that isn't self-destructive) you'd see a lot more competition to bring PUBG back down to earth.

Every weapon has its own bullet velocity, some you have to compensate a lot in different distances in order to hit someone, aim with an SKS or Kar with an 8x, you can literally see the bullet slowly getting to the destination you aimed afar.
The M24 is the exception, even at 8x it almost instanly reaches its destination.

Each game is about 30-40min long depending on how you die, or if you win, or how campy others are. The game moves along quickly though, you don't have forever to sit there and campy, the circle closes and you die if you don't move, when it's relatively small, enemy engagement % raises higher; the smaller it gets, the more you're fighting.

The slowest part of the game is the beginning. Loading in, dropping in, looting, then getting to the circle (if you're out of it), or once you're in, getting set up and more looting, etc. Once the circle closes in over and over it becomes faster. Overall, it's a quick game for how big it is and how many players there are.

It takes some getting used to, but it's a fun little game. If you don't like it, refund it and forget about it. However, I will say, that it took me over 2hrs to really get used to everything and figure out how it all should play out. So you may not get the "click" in the 2hr period.

Or just don't buy it, no big deal. And if you don't have friends to play it with, the game is severely less fun. Not that solo isn't fun, just that it can get stale and that with friends the fun is higher and lasts longer.

There are only two sniper rifles spawning in the world: the Kar 98k and the SKS. The SKS isn't really a sniper rifle though. With that said, any AR will work great with an 8x scope but you won't die from one hit unless you're hurt. There are crates dropping from the sky though, and in them there could be a Kar, an M24 or an AWM and possibly a 15x scope.

It's seriously different from either of those games. pubg doesn't have crafting. Rust is a totally different animal here, you can survive on a server for days in Rust and you have hunger and there's construction of shelter and all sorts of other player dynamics to be aware of. Totally different game.

pubg differs from DayZ because it has no crafting, but also because it has the shrinking play zone, danger zones, and lack of zombies. pubg is faster paced as a result, it's more Battle Royale than DayZ ever was.

Absolutely wrong. It happened well before standalone. Here's a little history lesson for you. In the mod, there was a bandit system. If you randomly killed people, you would turn into a "bandit". Your model would change and people would recognize you as a wanton murderer immediately.

Dean "Rocket" Hall thought the system had flaws so he wanted to change it. He started working on something to replace it with, and then removed the bandit system. Except he didn't replace it with anything. The entire system was gone and there was no repercussion whatsoever for shooting everyone you see on sight. The game turned from fun into a giant deathmatch overnight. The bandit system never got replaced and the game stayed a deathmatch.

This was right around the time it blew up from streamers, and Arma 2 hit steam's best selling just because of the DayZ mod. The population exploded with a bunch of people who never got to see the mod when it was half decent, cementing the deathmatch style gameplay. The bandit replacement never made it in because Rocket started working on standalone to cash in on the popularity asap. 4 years later, standalone is STILL in Early Access, and STILL has less content than the mod did.
