Those figures are of really good quality.

They looked so nice that I was actually tempted, for once, to finally buy an amiibo figure.

But now, I have heard they are needed to unlock hard mode and that make me not want to buy them anymore. Now I am really disgusted by buuying one.

Does that make any sense?

Fusion Mode is the real kicker and it sucks that it's locked behind an amiibo. I notice that they say Fusion Mode is not only a hard mode, but the hardest mode. So I still firmly believe that Hard Mode is something that will be available to all players once completing the game.

Okay, I am most definitely desperate to still consider this, but they are not saying this the ONLY way to unlock the content. Like in Star Fox Zero, where the amiibo content could be unlocked if you managed certain achievement.

Like casual need to buy the amiibo and just finish the game to have access to that content, but for example, for gamer who finish the game at 100%, it unlock the hard mode, or under 2 hours and it unlock one of the gallery, or and again unlocking with 100% on hard and les than 2 hours on hard.

I would even be okay if the Fusion skin was still amiibo exclusive.

All the scamming aside, I find it actually a nice touch that using the larva Metroid amiibo is what unlock the Fusion skin, as it is precisely that larva from which the DNA was extracted and used to save Samus, in the Fusion game.

It's like you "fuse" the metroid amiibo with the Samus in the game.

Most Amiibo content is garbage slapped together just so they have something for the amiibo to do. They wouldn't be in the game period if the amiibo weren't a thing.

Ive also got a lot of problems with the amiibo usage in most games. SSB4 and Mario Maker actually used them in a sensible way, unlocking bonuses that were either obtainable in the main game or handling it as a Toys to Life mode, and actually tied the unlock into the character you're scanning. Amiibos in this Metroid game, Zelda and Splatoon just unlock arbitrary shit like extra hearts. But do you really care about this kind of stuff?

The only worthwhile thing on this entire list of Metroid amiibo functionality is the bonus hard mode, and if that's just a 4x damage calculator replacing the 2x damage calculator from the standard hard mode you might as well do a low energy tank run. Its lazy.

I bet Fusion modes "hardest mode" comes from them locking the shitty aeion abilities. Which is what I'd consider normal mode.
