Not OP but should I watch Twin Peaks first?

The story is a rare kind of entertaining, the closest comparisons would be the stories of God Hand and Resident Evil 4, but it's quite a bit different from either. The gameplay is surprisingly okay, but the game is open world so expect a lot of boring driving. You'll have a fair bit of fun on the first playthrough but I doubt you'll come back for a second unless you just want to experience the atmosphere again.

Forgot to mention, game is best played alone and at night. Under any other circumstances the enemies just seem plain goofy, but you'd be surprised at how tense it can actually get.

The combat sections are pretty bad and pointless, everything else has a really odd charm about it. It's very uncoventional in it's story and characters, The open world is actually pretty bland, but all the side quest are fun and interest a ton of charm to the game. I would give it a shot and if you aren't invested by the time he you meet mustache man I would drop it. I've never seen twin peaks but I like it a lot

It's a great game if you can get past some of the bad design / bugs. It's the only game I've bothered to 100% aside from red dead redemption. If you get it for PC check out https://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Deadly_Premonition:_The_Director%27s_Cut for some improvements and fixes. And for the love of God back up all your save files.

I was actually pretty impressed with the open world in terms of it feeling alive. All the characters with their detailed schedules that are affected by the weather and stuff. It had a lot of little details that shouldn't be impressive but so many devs overlook.

I don't think I have the will to play through it but I found a great playthrough years ago on youtube by some nerdy sounding guy who pretty much had 100000% the game so he knew a lot of details and could really explain what was going on and show things you normally would't find. He really got me involved with the the story. Unfortunately I lost his series, I think he had just found some girl that had been killed.

I really found the game very appealing, small random things like the coffee and driving whilst talking to Zach were surpsrisingly entertaining.

It's so incredibly campy it draws you in like crazy, once you get sucked in you don't even notice the flaws because you're enjoying the crazy fuckin people and town. Except that one mission you have to tail someone going 35 mph for like 30 minutes and you have to throttle the gas and break wondering why the fuck they put that part of the mission in the game.

First off you have to understand it's a "so bad it's good" game on an incredibly low budget, it is so badly edited at times from all front, the music is unbelievably loud for no reason during certain scenes, the music choice make no sense during some scenes (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ppqjBGJxsNI during a scene where nothing special is happening and people are just talking, or when someone is talking seriously this song is blaring at double the volume the voices are), the combat is shoehorned in, and the driving is so unbelievably slippery that when you finally unlock the best car you're literally careening off of hills at max speed at the tap of a button due to how impossible it is to turn and it's one of the most frustrating and amazing things.

The entire first hour is possibly one of the silliest and best edited things ever created culminating with the Polly scene, York's interactions with Zach when driving around are fantastic, all the characters are great and the voice actors for most everyone are top notch, the intentional humor is great, the story is intriguing, the exploration is incredibly comfy especially when it's raining and you turn on your windshield wipers and have functioning turn signals, the side stories are interesting, and there's beard growing.

The game is amazing and a mess all at the same time and it is beautiful.
