>>
>>386195729
The decision to push an unoriginal cosmetic economy doesn't improve game play in the slightest nor does it enhance your experience if you just wanna play an FPS title. It's a decision to just make the developers money when the game is in EA and plenty of people have already bought the game which in turn should have funded the rest of it's development fully. This was a decision made purely out of greed, not for the consumer.

Crate distribution in an EA title? Are you kidding me? No wonder EA is in such a poor state right now, people will just eat up anything they throw at them.

Indirectly, yes. You can buy something through steam then trade it for real money. If you usw steam wallet cards the money cant be traced. Effectively rendering it anonymous. There were some cases of Russian (real surprise) stealing people credit/debit card infos, then buying TF2 keys from the Community Market or TF2 store and then selling those on 3rd party trade sites for money.
Other was not really a money laundering but could be used as such. Russians have much lower prices for Steam games because for devs its better to get even the littlest bit of money than getting none (piracy). So this meant that Russians could buy Steam games for cheap and then sell those forward for profit in 3rd party trade sites. This is no more since games bought in Russia are region locked.

You did, you want to make it as if the micro transactions and their overall implementation contains no ill will yet you leave a crucial detail like that out which could possible curb that point entirely. Early Access titles hinge on a consumer/producer trust that they're going to stick to their word and deliver what they promised, especially when they get such an outstanding payout. When they break that, what else do you have to go on for trustworthiness?

Why should I believe anything they're doing is for the betterment of the game or the consumer if they're not even will to keep their own promises? Contributing to the growing gambling economy on Steam sure isn't convincing me.

>Setting the rarity drop for items dictates it's value to the consumer, you twit.
Nope. Objectively having item rarity does not dictate price. Price is dictated by users.

>still completely broken.
Hyperbole much? 300k are still playing. It clearly is not "completely broken".

>For having an opposing opinion?
For actually thinking the devs set the prices on in-game items. Your mental gymnastics are truly impressive. No really. I wish I could get a glimpse into the mind of someone who can completely delude themselves into believing something so objectively wrong. Don't even bother replying manchild, I'm going out for food.

Majority of recent reviewer opinions on Steam say otherwise along with my own game play of the game. And I run a pretty decent rig too, with the amount of funding they're getting, the game shouldn't be functioning as badly as it currently is.

>Objectively having item rarity does not dictate price
Did you sleep through basic economics or something?

I never said they set the prices, but okay.

>I'm going out for food.
Nice excuse to get you out of an internet discussion because you're too angry to keep a clear head, BAI BAI.
>>
>>386198753
>players still dictate price of items
You say that like it's a good thing.
Supply and demand will dictate the price, and for a game with a large, severely autistic player base it will create high priced commodity, that's completely tradable.
So anon was completely right about it becoming a gambling currency.
Whether it will receive good updates is uncertain, but looking at what happened with CSGO, I'd say no.

8 gigabytes of DDR4 ram should be more than plenty.

>ramlet

>>
>>386199317
There has to be some level of tolerance for that sort of thing. I'd usually be the first to jump on the hate bandwagon, but honestly (and this probably says a lot about the sorry state of this industry) I'm less concerned about them implementing something early because in the end, I'm focused on the finished product, and not the state of the beta.

People keep harping on "early access" so yeah, they were dishonest about the timetable, but if all we really want is a finished game out of it there's so far nothing "missing" which is what I'm more concerned about.

Of course, it's a bit of a landmine solely because of microtransactions, but would people be calling them liars if they promised a new gun on release day and patched it in during the beta instead? Is that breaking trust in the same way, or is the problem solely with microtransactions?

You do have a point about contributing to the whole steam gambling issue, but I think anything I could say (optional, cosmetic, etc.) has already been said, and that part comes down to personal opinion of course, I can't tell you cosmetics aren't ruining your game because maybe you feel that way, and I can't tell you how to think.

Personally, I've grown up seeing people buying wow and runescape gold off botters so really, steams economy doesn't seem that far of a stretch to what's been around in online communities forever.

Nothing wrong with 8g-
My build is 4 years old, fuck.
>>

>8 gigabytes of DDR4 ram should be more than plenty.
It should be, but it isn't. 8gb is listed as the minimum requirement. I had 8gb of ram, and at the start of every round, the buildings looked like something from the PS1 days and I couldn't enter any of them. I also had scattered chugging throughout the game.

I upgraded to 16gb and all those problems were gone. I knew one day 8gb of ram wouldn't be enough for something but I didn't expect it this soon.

Shouldn't this be more of a concern to you in that case considering they're focused on fueling the game's gambling scene rather than putting their resources into aspects like optimization and refining features to make the game even more enjoyable/long lasting. It's just so left-field for them to implement this that I can't help but be suspicious of their intention.

It's solely with the micro transactions, because of the overall culture it brings with it and the fact that they promised not to introduce a purely cosmetic feature that fuels itself on real world currency after the game was out of EA. Which is an entirely fair promise considering the current state of economies fueled by video games. To me, it says a lot about their intentions when they do things like this.

Cosmetic additions do not affect the game play in the slightest, I'm not arguing you on that point. What I'm arguing is that they're focusing their resources on an aspect completely devoid of substance rather than optimizing the game or adding genuinely relevant features to improve the experience for everyone as a developer of an EA should.

I wouldn't give a shit if this game was currently a full release title, but for an EA title it just bothers the hell out of me.

>>386200579
The min. requirement is actually 6gbs of ram but your point still stands. Isn't that indicative of severe memory leak issues?
>>
>>386193397

>Friend gifted me the game

>I knew one day 8gb of ram wouldn't be enough for something but I didn't expect it this soon.
Welcome to a world where we throw away shit and upgrade like it doesn't matter and programmers don't give a single fuck about optimization.

Witcher 3 runs on consoles. CONSOLES. It is optimized on the PC up the fucking ass; it's so fucking optimized I seriously don't think we will see a better optimized game in the next fie years.

If retards didn't upgrade their computers every time a new stick of anything or a new card came out regardless if they needed it or not then we could probably run fine on 8GB. Except there are retards out there upgrading all the fucking time driving this industry.

It's the same everywhere, morons buying new hardware without knowing anything about what they actually need. It's the same with camping equipment, sports equipment, and cars.

>>386201078
its a game based on an arma mod, and arma is THE memory leak the game, so its expected

Maybe I'm too optimistic for this age. But the fact that the proceeds are solely to support the gamescom event at least helps that mentality.

Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if they got pressure from the event itself to run some sort of promotion in order to pay back being featured there or something.

But of course it's purely speculative. I'd be much more nervous if they were pocketing the money though of course.
>>
>>386201929
Yeah, but once the event is over all of the proceeds after taxation and Steam reduction go into their pocket.

With the state EA is currently in, I just don't see the point in giving developers the benefit of the doubt, especially when they can't even keep their word. If this game never makes it out of EA I'm just gonna give up on the concept entirely until Steam decides to care again.
>>
>>386200759
Yeah there's no way in hell you can decide if you like a game in 2 hours. Some games have fucking intro sequences longer than that.
>>
>>386202478

8gb ramlet here,I used to get this 1/2 rounds and had to find another match because nothing worked, after the recent update I get it now maybe 1/5 matches and after a few seconds the game renders them properly and I can play as normal. I don't think it's a ram issue.

>>
>>386201259
Same thing happened to VRAM pretty recently. We could have great looking games if devs optimized, but instead they use all this extra computer power to make games that look 5 years old which run like shit because enough people have hardware good enough to let them get away with it.

What goes through people's minds when they decide to splurge that much on a virtual item? Like the people who spent thousands of dollars on a virtual ship in Space Citizen and shit. It's different from spending $50 a week on in-game money since those are incremental and only make up a huge sum when you add them up. This is hundreds of dollars for an in-game skirt that provides zero advantage. Thousands of dollars on an in-game ship that you won't even get for years to come and can be gotten by playing the game.

Just... why?
