Brand new wired 360 controllers are like 20 bux on amazon.

My only complaint with the 360 controller is that the joysticks have cheap rubber on them and they will wear down after heavy use. My 10 year old wired controller has the left analog worn down to the plastic, I had to buy joystick caps to fix the problem but I find them to be kind of uncomfortable compared to the vanilla sticks.

If you are in the market for a controller then buy a type 3, but if you already have a Type 2, you don't have too much of a reason to go out and get a type 3 unless you absolutely could benefit from Bluetooth.

One thing I did not mention is that there are special types of type 3s out there to. besides the stock ones, there's the Shadow series, like the gorgeous Dawn Shadow, which has a satin topcoat that feels great. Others like the Recon Tech Special Edition have rubberized grips on the bottom, just like an elite controller.

Functionally though, they are all identical.

The buttons are all over the place. I don't know what you want me to tell you, sometimes I want to throw a grenade, rocket boost, ARS into dive kick and wait for the grenade to land and something that simple takes almost 500-700ms longer on a 360 controller. I never have a problem doing anything like that on GCN controllers.

Extreme G3 I can pull parallel turns, bank in and out of chicanes and kill other bikers without breaking a sweat. On PS3 games I can do anything from stupidly long infinites to retard chamber isolation in Bamham. The buttons are just too spacey. I like that the controller is big but they still haven't coordinated the button design: and the Dreamcast did it already, years earlier.

Sometimes I want to press the back button on 360 and I end up slapping the left thumb stick, clicking it, or really just pressing anything on the left side of it. It's really not designed to play video games, video games are designed with the controller in mind a lot of the time. Case in point: Perfect Dark HD from Rare Replay. They can do regular pitch and yaw because of the technology, but more importantly they can actually try and do a lot of work around a that the N64 controller had. None of which actually work/impact your experience.

I got rid of all the type ones, and so did my roomie. If you really wanna feel for yourself, you could always go to the Microsoft Store, or any Gamestop and find a pre-ownded one in good shape. All controllers now come in ziplock bags, so you can take it out of the bag and feel it. As for charging while playing, you must use a proprietary battery pack like the official play and charge. Personally though, the battery life is not bad, So my recommendation would be to forget about play and charge and symply invest in AA eneloops. It's the smarter choice, and those batteries will work on anything, joy con AA battery grip, Wii Remote, 360 pads, other xbox one pads, etc.

I have used my Switch controller on my PC, here's some things to keep in mind.

1. It's not Xinput.
2. By running games through steam big picture and forcing overlay, you can use it with any game without issue.
3. You CANNOT use it wired, wireless or nothing.
4.Some people have d-pad issues. if you do, call Nintendo or perform the tape mod.
5. It's 70 fucking dollars, for PC you could do better with other options.

I've very fond of the Zhidong V. I've had it for a full year without having any problems with it.

It is a lot like the recent Logitech in that there's buttons for switching between X and Direct Input (360 and older PC controller compatibility) and also has button combos for switching around dpad and analouge sticks in the function. It doesn't seem to have the same issue with the the dead zone as the recent logitech and seems more durable.

It is my favorite PC controller so far.
