It's intentional, I think he first did it just as a tribute to kitty but he's kinda ran with the style and made it his own. Which I'm fine with, he's definitely done a good job at putting his own spin on it to make his stuff feel distinct while bringing out that spastic sense of humor kitty's videos had.
