The convex sticks in the wiiu pad are fine since they have a ridge around the outside. Also they are more grippy than the dog nose material on the PS controller.
I won't argue about the other two points though. It feels really awkward to use with the placement of everything. Playing Mario Maker on it is a pain in the ass because my thumb naturally wants to rest on the analog sick instead of the dpad

Wii u pro controller has very low/unnoticeable latency when using it on a pc using the mayflash adapter, plus that battery life is godly. I can count the amount of times I had to charge it in the past years that I had it on my fingers alone.

I've played plenty of games where the run button is assigned to a face button and I need to steer the camera while moving.

Personally I prefer the WiiU Pro for this, my thumb feels more comfortable on the facebuttons because thats where it has been for years and my index finger can easily move the stick.

Your index finger can't twist and turn enough to hit all those buttons comfortably at the speed games like monster hunter demand.
