Less of a sense of EPIC SAVE THE UNIVERSE FROM EVIL at every turn and more of a relaxed sense of exploration and adventure. I think that's what people really liked about most of MoP.

Are WoW accounts valuable at all these days? I have about 12+ characters at 110 but their gear is kind of shitty, I think they average at around 850 because I level using invasions once I hit Legion content then do a couple more at max level for gear then never log into them again. I just like levelling.

All my friends quit and I basically play to kill time every now and again, time to move on. Could I sell it?

I'm not sure if I want next expension to be anything more than more zones/levels/dungeons/raids/legendaries/talents/artifact traits. Changing fundamentals and core systems every expansion is wasteful and is one of the reason why expansions take so long to make. Just make them glorified patches, run them more often and at a lower price point. Like every other MMO on the market.

I'm sure there will be some people drone enough to put up with that, but I don't think it would be as popular if they did it like that.

The major draw of progression based private servers besides having legacy support is that you get a AAA MMO that's completely free to play, there's no region lock on the server so every language is spoken on the server, and there's less rules and restrictions like on retail. You could camp someones corpse in pvp and call them a faggot tranny all you want on a private server, try that in retail and you get suspended.

Sure, he said it in a bad way but think about it: Pretty much everyone who actually played Vanilla/TBC remembers WoW for the tightly knit communities and the amount of trust between people and not the rest of the game.
You're not going to experience the magic of WoW as you played it back then and the vast majority will rely on guides regarding gearing, rotations and backported addons, forcing you to comply with them rather than keeping with the the mixed quality of gear you had when playing.
Also, botting. back then, the most advanced you had was Glider, now bots are common place on vanilla servers and are much more advanced than then.
