I can only remember one time I've ever been banned from a game. I don't remember the details very well but basically an item interaction in Vindictus that was not intended to occur let people upgrade their weapons with a low/non-existent risk of destroying them. Outed the admin for being a scumbag in a money making scheme we both were a part of by taking advantage of the player base and selling items under the guise of them being created by hackers. Cue some not so dumb players figuring out what was really going on and the admin wanting me to take the fall on my own so he could sweep it all under the rug. Wasn't having any of that shit and came clean with everything complete with transaction logs. Cue the stripping of my mod powers and a permanent ban of my game and forum accounts a few days later.

Yeah, a lot of games check your process list as a means of cheat prevention. Only way to safely bypass that is to use a sandbox with appropriate rulesets. Or, you know, not using CE.

I killed some of the friends of the Friday the 13th Devs. They were going around team killing and laughing their asses off, so I started telling tell them to fuck off over voice chat and killed them when I respawned as Jarvis. Needless to say they got pissy and now I'm permabanned from the multiplayer only game I paid for. I'm still kinda mad about about it but I figure I got my hours to dollar worth of entertainment and am moving on.

Exactly. I get pistol only servers so people can happily grind up the dumb stat shit you had to grind up, and have some light fun. But there were so fucking many servers where some dude paid $40 a month and felt like he was now king of the universe, and god help you if your normal servers were full and joined his kingdom.
