I'm really fucking glad that general consensus on this game has been positive. It broke my heart when I heard that the developers had worked 3 years on this passionately and they were completely destroyed by the reaction to the leaks.

Have people seen something I haven't? All I've seen is the Mario crew jumping around and shooting things at Rabbids. I haven't found a reason to be excited. I know Nintendo can do fantastic tactics game, but I've seen nothing to demostrate that yet.

Why would I play this instead of xcom or any of the other xcom like games?

Minnions are the rabbids of the movie industry, rabbids came first, and is the problem with them? They were designed for children to enjoy.

Even if the gameplay was good, the very idea for the game is stupid. It's like they want to make a video game form of a shitty Mario parody, but they still have to be family friendly so they give everyone guns (blasters) and have the Rabbids make a bunch of potty jokes and call it a day.

The Mario universe is already weird enough. Nothing the Rabbids can do can really make it any more weird. Instead of guns it should've been regular Mario items. The guns and items in the game look really boring. It should've been a Rayman crossover at least. All the non-Mario enemies are variations of the Rabbids and that's really boring.

Gameplay comes first. There wouldn't have been enough already-existing long-range attack items from Mario to fit all of the different attributes they're giving each one.

A lot of this shit still looks more visually interesting than something like the Super Scope. And they even are using some existing stuff like Luigi's Poltergust-esque gun and all of the different types of hammers.
