if you are patient and plan carefully you won't die so easily. This isn't devil may cry. In a lot of cases, you can run past enemies in order to get another go at a boss. Bloodborne is probably best played after at least Dark Souls 1, because it introduces you to the combat system without bosses that are quite so fast.

Bloodborne was my first souls game, I deleted and re downloaded it twice because I felt like you.
My focus was trying to kill all enemies in area and move on but you only need to kill if they are in the way, the progress is made by learning not fighting.
Once that clicked I was hooked.
The areas get cooler, the lore deepens and it's a treat.
I'm now playing dark souls 3 and it's easy

That's sort of how I feel. Soulsfags like to fight the "people only like it because it's difficult" meme by saying the explorations good but the novelty of each corridor you go through wears off very quickly. Repetition doesn't agree well with fostering a sense of exploration.

No one is downplaying the difficulty, the only times you should be repeatedly dying is to a handful of bosses. If you're dying all the time while exploring, you're doing something wrong.

What a coincidence, I just got my GOTY edition in the mail and started playing for the first time and am about 3-4 hours in. Loving it so far. Unlock shortcuts and don't be afraid to run through enemies

This is actually a legitimate problem with Souls difficulty. If experienced players get stuck, they try rushing past things (same if they have to fight a boss twenty times). Brand new players tend not to do this, and they get frustrated and give up more easily.
