I don't like the game that much?

It was a nice emotional experience initially but the only thing it really exceeded at was being manipulative, because the story is not consistent, the characters are one-dimensional, the art direction is not good, and the game appears to be as wide as an ocean, but as deep as a puddle. The biggest part of this games charm was the mysterious nature of it when it first released, because the demo had around 10 different endings based on your actions, so people assumed that the game would be incredibly dynamic. However, once you figure out that all the endings are just 20 different variants of the neutral ending + pacifist ending + genocide ending, the game doesn't seem all that special at all. The sound design is top-tier and the humor is good, but aside from that it's really not that good.

The game is about how you went into a cave and fell down into a hole that leads to a sealed off place that was sealed by humans in order to keep monsters underground and away. Turns out, the monsters are all actually nice people who just have some quirks that humans don't like except for this one monster dude who was able to "save state" and as such has experienced every single timeline up until you show up and hates the world and himself for it. By the end you cure him of his immortality, you can choose to forgive him or not, and he dies, then you set the monsters free into a world of a society that was built up to be nothing but monster-murderers but they somehow instantly assimilated and became friends with all the humans the end. It's mostly a comedy game with emotional crits, but not that good overall. Also the game intentionally crashes sometimes.

Oh and also the endings you get are determined by how many people you kill and who you kill.

There's the "kill nobody" ending which I just described, the neutral ending in which there are like 20 variants of it based on which bosses you kill and if you killed neutral enemies or not, and the kill everyone ending where you have to grind until every enemy is dead.

Undertale is what I would point to as a tumblr game done right. There's a lot of aspects that appeal to that sort of crowd, but it does so while still being enjoyable to everybody else. For example, the game has a lesbian love story, but you could just as easily replace one of them with a guy without changing any dialogue. If this same story written by your typical internet SJW, they would make the couple's lesbianism the most important part of their relationship, emphasizing how progressive and morally right it is to be lesbians and how much of a shitlord you are if you disagree. Undertale has much of what we consider SJW/tumblr but lacks the obnoxiousness commonly associated with it.

Alphys has no redeemable factors, at all. She's a worthless, spineless, passionless, shameful piece of shit who does nothing but annoy you and deceive you. She doesn't deserve undyne, she never truly took accountability for her actions until it almost killed you, and she is so shallow that it's even implied she commits suicide in some of the endings. She's weak, pathetic, cowardly, and untrustworthy. Everything undyne says she likes about her is completely false.

I remember Toby saying ages ago that the engine he used to make the game just isn't compatable with any kind of Nintendo hardware, so if there was ever going to be a Nintendo port of the game it would have to be completely remade from the ground-up.
