You can find people to run the vanilla dungeons but it's mostly going to be low level new players, the dungeons are very hit or miss and actually super hard when you have zero knowledge. They're just relics from release time when the devs had no idea how to make their combat system work.

We need more information on the new elites. They all seemed boring except for rifle thief. I was hoping ranger would be able to turn into an animal but got my hopes crushed.

Obviously we don't know til PoF comes out, but how are Warriors in PvE/PvP as a whole?

You can solo most of the story modes of the dungeons. Sometimes the daily requires you to finish a certain duingeon, that's your best change to find a group in the LFG tool.

20 bucks for HoT is about as low as you. An expect to see it for a while, I wouldn't expect a sale or price decrease until the holidays/after PoF drops.

I wonder if they would have gotten less pushback if they spun the expansion as coming with HoT and being priced at 49.99, with an option to buy the expansion alone at 30. It's exactly the same deal, but phrased in such a way that puts it as HoT coming with the expansion, and owners of HoT getting a discount.

Reaper condi is going to get nerfed you know. It's obvious that the Scourge is supposed to specialize in condi. There are already food nerfs to balance out the new specs coming in next expansion.

But yes as of now Condi does more dps than power reaper but you must have incredible uptime in all your conditions and be able to dance around multiple cooldowns. Whereas a power reaper you can just spam a few buttons for big results

How to make gold? Farming fractal level 40 and sell the boxes you get is the best way . If you can't into that then you can farm silverwastes loot train which can be accessed by f2p players. If you want a little more variety you can farm the repeatable dungeon achievement. I think it requires six different dungeon paths to be cleared then it gives you 10 gold and a 150 tokens-of-your-choice box.

I got the game from some chinese guy back when it launched and it was pretty crappy.

I mean, mashing most damage dealing skills off cooldown as in engis case, or mashing f3 switching to f1 or f2, landing a crit and mashing f3 again ad infinitum isnt exactly difficult brain-wise. In the case of warrior you need when to engage, disagage, keep your distance, switch weapons to cleanse etc etc its a quite difficult balancing act as compared to the ele. mesmer has the most difficult rotation out of all classes. revenant is just batshit and thief is mash skill 2 on sword to win the game or do your gay man dagger bs or stuff spam or whatever fuck thieves

I played GW2 at launch for about 6 months with a friend, he had been playing GW1 for around 6-7 years and I played it for about 100-200 hours. I can't speak for current day GW2, but at launch it was incredibly disappointing, tried to find fun in it, but it just got worse as time went on. What is my fastest way of leveling up without the level 80 booster? What about without mind numbing boredom?

Playing variety. PvP and WvW both have reward tracks. You don't have to be good to proceed, although if you're actually good in pvp you'll be earning shit faster. Reward tracks give tome of knowledge (1 level /book). Logging in daily = login rewards and I think a couple of them grant XP or the tomes.
Doing story quests in batches. It prevents you from getting bored of the story, and gives you a break from pvp/wvw.
You should have birthday boosts on your character if you've had them long enough. Activate them on other characters for nice bonus XP. You might be able to find cheap xp foods on the market so using them will be a little nice addition.
Do some story dungeons, they give nice XP.
If you come across an event that seems small, do it.

In general though, basically the only way to prevent burnout is to not speed level. Play a variety, and you'll reach max pretty fast.

I love Lake because they did a really great job thematically with it. Feels like a core tyria map, but definitely doesn't act like it. Fastest dailies were nice, and also dat leather farm. It depends, I think that 2 months of time is enough to play through HoT but if it is worth it? I can't advise on that. Only thing that will be relevant still from HoT will be elite specs which are quiet nice since they alter a bit the way you play your class and give you access to one more weapon type

If you've been playing vanilla and like the game, yeah it's a great deal - the price of HoT at launch for HoT+PoF.
You'll probably want to get HoT anyways for the masteries like gliding which is used in Raids for instance, and for the elites - but most people are going to be playing PoF elites around launch anyways due to it being new.
