/v/ you literally have no idea what you're talking about. You know jack shit about development costs and adding features. Shit like DLC was created since development costs of games get bigger and no one wants to ask for more cash for the game - so they add stuff for big fans as an option to buy, to get more money back. Game costs 60$, but if 5% of the people spend additional 10$ on DLC which might've costed the team only a small fraction of Dev time to make, but will make the whole project more financially sound in the eyes of team? Then they do it. Thanks to this the base budget for the 60$ game is bigger, if they know DLC will come out and put some money back in the pocket.

Yes, DLC actually gives you more features in the base game, even before you consider what the DLC itself gives you. Ask fucking any Dev anywhere. If it wasn't for DLC, you autostart would call a game great, not knowing what you could get for free, if you didn't scream at any perspective of paid content.

Same here, Amiibo locks small things - this time one of them gives you a small mode that maybe 1% of the community will play, since everyone else will be happy with the basic game. Creating hard.mode in such a small title isn't a lot of work, so it's a small thing out to boost some Amiibo sales and probably gives this IP restart some financial backing. Maybe they saw how many fans Metroid has and investors agreed to make this game because of these Amiibo? We might never know, but imagine if there was no Amiibo, no additional modes, and the base game would also have some content cut, you never knew even was on the table - would you then be happy you never even had an option of unlocking this mode, not having more shit in the base game, AND no Amiibo to get, but you could be happy 'Nintendo doesn't lock content or do DLC'? Because this is what would've happened, but since you know jack shit, you keep on being autistic everywhere. And yes, this is tied to ANY Dev team and EVERY DLC.

>You know jack shit about development costs and adding feat
It's a fucking remake, you autismo.

Remakes and remasters are made because they are easy as shit to cash in. It has nothing to do with development costs, they pretty much skipped pre-production because everything was done 20 years ago. Locking hard mode behind a plastic toy in BotW is already humiliating, but locking it behind a plastic toy for a REMAKE is inexcusable.

If Nintendo wasn't a shit company and wanted more money out of a remake/remaster they could've done a special edition like pic related, instead of locking content behind amiibos, with which you'll have to pay about the same you would for a limited edition box anyway, but you only get the game and shitty plastic toys instead.
>>
>>386015791
Your argument is invalid because only 3 people Weill be able to get those amiibos because of Nintendo's artificial scarcity policy. 2 of them Will have bought the amiibos from scalpers by the way.
>>
>>386015791
You're making it sound like they sell DLC as a favor to people, and not because it's an easy way to make even more money.
>>
I'm still getting it.
Seriously, if it doesn't bother me, why should I get outraged about locked content? For your sakes? You are all horrible wastes of space, I don't give a fuck if it means you autstic 100%s can't unlock a super hard mode that you've never had and therefore have no reason to miss in a Metroid game.
>>
>>386019095
/v/ are more like SJWs than they like to admit-- they love getting disproportionately outraged over nonexistant infractions.
>>
>>386019095
>why should I get outraged about locked content?
It's a slippery slope. Nintendo is realizing that can charge extra for shit and cocksucking fans will buy it all. Before too long they'll be charging more for less.
>>
>>386016665
>Locking hard mode behind a plastic toy in BotW
Which plastic toy was that?
>>
>>386019586
Ah.. excuse me. I meant "behind $20 DLC"
My bad, that's so much better than a $13 platic toy that's never in stock.
>>
I dont give a fuck
Im not buying that game anymore because of the amiibo shit
Games in the 80s had all those features in the cart
>>
>/v/ gets mad about shit and nobody else cares
Oh this thread again. What are we accomplishing today?
>>
Guys, just buy Amiibo cards for a $1 each or make your own. If you have an Android phone that is compatible, it's easier to make them. Not my video, but see, they work.

Those amiibo would sell anyway and they would be fine as shortcuts to unlock some content. But when said content is locked entirely behind artificially scarce toys, that's plain jewish tricks.

I'm planning to get 3 MH Stories amiibos if they release in Europe and have no fucking clue if they actually do anything in-game.
>>
>>386019956
They work in Animal Crossing.

Agree with Op. And i have something called disposable income. Im might buy two copies in spite of fags and laugh.

Don't like it, don't buy it. With how vague articles are I'm not even certain how true that'll even end up being in the long run. You ever see that video of the experiment with the monkeys and the cucumbers and grapes? /v/ just likes to whine about being exploited.

It's pretty sad anon, here's my pity (you)
>>
Hilariously if hard mode was there from the start, I'd say 15% of players would even bother with hard mode at best. By doing this more people will play hard mode. This is all fucking hilarious because you need to buy an amiibo for hard mode but it will work.

It's always ok when Nintendo does it.

>>
>>386020389
And if that person was complaining about a game he did buy, you would simply say it's his fault for buying something he didn't like. And what's wrong with complaining about a changing industry that embraces anti consumer practices locks content on the cart?

>Hurrr ehh why can't they bend over to business changing aghooo?

Fuck off with your criticism deflections

As long as amiibos remain easy to spoof I don't really give a fuck. Shitty business practices but whatever, benefits me in the short term.

Fuck Nintendo doing this cancerous business practice
The entire vidya industry needs to crash and burn so we can have a new golden age in about 15 years

Those poor developers? You care so much about those developers do you? Let me ask you something, when was the last time you paid for porn?
>>

Buy unofficial amiibo cards or do what I did for BotW and just buy regular NTAG215 NFC tags and use your phone to write the amiibo data to them.
