And having the perfect skills doesn't help when you are bound to consume a lot of MP for every single battle and there is a lot of them

Are you kidding me? There's no way to get out of dungeons with fast travel, only very far areas are teleporter connected

And even with no difficulty the encounter rate is just too high, 45 of the minutes are just spent fighting the same stuff over and over and consuming mps because of it

Yes they take mana which is why you maximize your effectiveness and minimize your required moves by hitting weakness and using press turn. This is no fault of the game, put forth a little effort man. If that doesn't work out for you try a physical build.

Also Apocalypse has better gameplay for many reasons I don't feel like typing out but the game is a bit easier and the story isn't as good.

That's what I do and I usually run out of mana about when I reached my objective this way, so I have to backtrack hoping I don't get killed since I can nly use 0 mps skills on the way back and repeat

Grinding barely gets you any exp. Just do sidequests. If you complete the sidequests and still have a hard time, you're just a shitter.

Have you tried changing the difficulty to easy? Maybe you'll have more fun.
