I would say that's moreso BB than GG, but certain characters do look for wins after knockdowns, such as Raven and Millia. It certainly isn't the entire game though, some characters have very poor oki and make up for it in other ways, what characters are you talking about specifically, or just stuff you've seen in tournies?

There are only three characters in the entire game to have poor oki: Potemkin, Slayer, and Sol Badguy, and they are the three worst characters in the game.

This also why they are the biggest scrub killers. Only bad players lose to them. They have zero yomi nor oki game and rely on counter hits that a competant player will never get hit by.

This is also why you never reccomend those 3 characters to new players.

Are you fucking kidding me? Do you even know what Slayer's supposed to do? That codger's got mixups six ways from Sunday, he's plenty good and is never forced to counterpick. The real reason not to reccommend him to scrubs is because his neutral is entirely reliant on whiff punishment and BDC gimmicks, so new players won't learn proper footsies with him.

She's thicc and brown and has giant floating swords so scrubs gravitate towards those they like to look at.
Unfortunately she's in the running for bottom 3 and is very complex. Twice the work for a bargain bin Millia that happens to still have actual pressure if her mix ups get blocked.

Not him, but she seems pretty normal at first. She also has sort of tekken-like normals, I don't really know what they're called, so she seems like she'd be easy. But, in my opinion she's one of the hardest characters to learn, since you have to do a lot of sword setups and all that to do any damage. She also has a hard time in the neutral.
That being said, if you (or your dick) really wan't to learn her, go for it. Just know it'll be an uphill battle.

I have been trying to do this combo for 3 fucking days now. One of three things happens every time. Either I don't hold HS long enough to switch stances, I can't time the S attack after the stance switch properly and drop the combo, or on the rare occasion that I actually get to the last move I fuck up the motion every fucking time.

Fighting games are just too fucking hard.

Combo trials aren't really that necessary, while they can help you with execution most of the advanced ones are there to show you what is possible. pretty much a way to show you the flashy combos. You should probably get a few simpler combos down and then try to apply them in real match situations before moving on to the harder stuff.

Millia used to be one of the more difficult characters to use; you had to know pretty much everything about every character to be successful plus she was way faster. Now the game is slower, has YRC, slowdown and you focus less on character specifics becaue they are not nearly as strict, she is way more accessible.

My most used combos are probably
5K(low) > c.S > f.S > 2H > 2D(low)
After that the grenade explodes, if the opponent was hit during the string, you can do a simple air combo or 6H > 214K for corner carry. If you don't hit during the blockstring you can either run up > start pressure again, or jump cancel the 2D and jump in for pressure or jump out if you're not feeling confident that the opponent won't anti-air you.

The other combo is 5K(low) > c.S > 6P(overhead) > 236H > SG-H(explodes the grenade) into a simple air combo or shotgun combos in the corner. If the opponent blocks this, you can still annoy them with the shotgun.

I'm not a great Elph, so these are by no means optimal, but feel free to ask if you have further questions.

Inoune is notorious for being a huge tease. She likes to joke a lot about her secrets, and i-no back in x2 was a total enigma storywise. Daisuke liked her personality enough it leaked into the character. That's why I-no's Johnny coin is a ? mark too, it references her cheeky behavior towards her fans.

There's a running gag between her and her fans that she has whenever someone asks her age where she says she's 17 which is usually met with a very loud "eeeeeeeeeeh?" She's a troll pretty much. She's over 50 now iirc so she's been doing this for awhile.

May - I didn't expect her to play as she does. Learning how to use her dolphin isn't the hard part about her. Its the range and recovery from some of her normals.

Know your pokes. 5P is simply for checking people who are directly in front of you. Its an all purpose poke that you use to properly space and check anyone who enters your range

6K is your main source of damage. It checks anyone who mibdless airdashes or jumps in without realizing the consequences. When you catch someone with 6K and when youre near enough, the combo is 6K>2S>super jump j.H>j.D>Axl Bomber for a good 30+% of their life.

2S is the button to check anyone who end up directly above you. You can convert from it by truncating the 6K from the combo above.

Your ground tools are 2H which is long and causes stagge rin hit. Some people who don't know how to tech out of stagger properly can eat a 5D or any other combo leading to a knockdown 2D

Your main gatling is 2K>c.S>5H>2D>charge sickle. Since 5H has long animation and your next move is 2D, you have all the time in the world to input down back charge for the charge move.

3P is one of your DP bait as well as all around oki tool. Since it is disjointed from your hurtbox, its great for baiting DPs.

6H is aa good overhead thatand beats lows and causes groundbounce on counterhit. Moves you forward a good range. Use it when you've conditioned them to crouch block with the sickle and 2H

Your main source of damage are Axl bomber corner loops, but you dont need to learn that for now. Its something you learn later on.

When they're scared of pressing anything due to fear of your charge sickle move, use the command grab and roman cancel from there for a full combo.

Sparrowhawk stance is a great way to harass people from full screen or 3/4ths away. Just know that the sickle during this stance has a hurtbox so unevenly press your sickle throws to catch them off.

Overall Axl is all about conditioning your opponent to not jump and get them with your good pressure and range on the ground; make them impatient so they jump or airdash, to which you hit them with 6K and convert from there.

Also I think they changed the sparrowhawk stance. I think now if you block the first hit, Axl goes out of sparrowhawk. And the first sparrowhawk strike turns unblockable if you wait few seconds in stance.

You can convert off sickle chsrge throw after the up follow up (full circle swing) with a roman cancel into 6K combo route. If they're far, use sparrowhawk stance instead for the combo.

You have a decent DP, make them forget you have one as its easily punishable that most DPs. You also have a parry which is a great way to start the round for aggressive opponents.

Thundersickle throw (quick jump behind surprise attack) is a great way to cross them up. You can YRC it for a quick crossover or you can red roman cancel the hit for a combo.

Lastly, take it slow. Your main goal here is to get better and everyone loses a lot in fighting games. The most important thing is to improve and to have fun.

If you want the gist of it the conclave was attempting to resurrect Justice and transfer Chronus's soul into it to create a perfect world they could subjugate and strip of free will. They got stopped by Sol and the gang. Also, Sol is right again at the end when Elphelt goes full dark side and betrays them and reveals she was programmed to act friendly to them and wasn't even aware of her actual objective so she wouldn't be able to fight against it. Then Sol strips the evil from her by being a stubborn asshole and punching an unbreakable barrier. Elphelt gets whisked away and Sol promises to get her back because he doesn't want to lose anyone else, and there begins Rev's story.

Just adding things I forgot

2H is mid, not a low but its good for pressuring on the ground. Your main crouching poke from afar that hits low is 2P.

Your main jump in is j.S. Just make sure to not forget it has a hurt box. It's sibling move, j.2S hits at a sharper angle. Its a good way to approach, but if your oponent has a DP, its not advisable. Stick to 3P and j.H for safejumps that beat reversals.

j.6P is a good air to air normal that contests enemies from a range. If you tag them with j.6P, combo with j.6K.

Sickle Storm super (fire sickle or Renshou) is a good metered DP. Big damage when done close range and conbos from c.S>5H>2D>236236H.

His other super, Shark strike or Yakou is aa good way to pull the enemy in and is fairly fast so its used for sniping. It staggers them in on hit and you can convert to IAD j.H>j.D. Its also super plus on block so go nuts when it gets blocked at closer range.
