Yeah because turtling the game is fun. A grand example of why in a multiplayer game one mechanic should not yield so much reward and be so easy to pull off. Parries are fucked in so many competitive games. Third Strike with all of its problems parrying wasn't actually one of them because all parrying did fundamentally was block a attack for no blockstun and frame advantage after that the player had to have the execution/reactions to follow up with something and even then a small handful of characters like Yun has things safe even when parried.

For Honor died since people shilled the 1v1 mode only to get BTFO when after 2 weeks they realized mayve 1v1 is kinda shallow. 4v4 had better balance and only had connection issues which will be gone with dedicated servers

even if it HAD better animations, a fighting game need so much more than "better" animations. ofcourse the animations must be competent enough for a high paced game like this. a good fighting game needs balance, strategy, diversity, different strategies etc

This is literally the only game i have ever played that get's worse the more you know about it.
Once people figured out that Parry = GG everything went downhill

The game was much more fun when nobody knew what they where doing.
I think the devs really underestimated how hard fighting game autists would pick this game appart.
It's literally the only explanation for why the the meta set in so fast and how so dull to play it became after, they where caught completely off guard.

It didnt help that the 4v4 modes use the loot system, so you will have people so powerful that wouldnt help people trying to play in.

and the 2v2 or 1v1 modes dont use the upgrades, so people will think its the most balance one.

i stopped playing after the first dlc and every shitter was playing centurion and shinobi. it also didn't help at how uncommunicative and slow the devs are.
