Yeah, it has about 2,500 concurrently when I'm on.
It's mostly been doing less often backend / small frontend updates

No, which is why a majority quit. The team is so fucking incompetent it hurts because other private servers blow TTR out of the water in terms of new content and updates.

Seriously, if you were following this game, it took a YEAR for the Toontown Species election (which is utterly pointless to begin with) to finally end, and the results were rigged and they just picked the two species they could model the best.

It's horrific how the game is 4 years old and big chunks of the game are still missing or outright broken.

I can name a few but they're all dead with less than 100 people online at best. Nobody is really willing to make a new account and start all over from scratch, Toontown is too tedious and repetitive to do it again. It's pretty much the only reason TTR is most popular, because it was first. I hear Project Altis is good but I never tried it.

I kind of enjoy the game the way it is now, even if the rewritten devs are godawful.

The game tells you how many people are online at all times. TT was pretty fucking popular my dude, and Rewritten is the most popular private server, and shit it's literally a free MMO.

They just pushed out a new site. One of the posts a couple months past also mentioned how they're focusing on fixing all the minor shit and getting the game stable before they start advertising it try bring in more players. they also started the final vote for the new species. While they're not the best, the game is playable and that's all that matters to me.

Also, if anyone likes TT, check out Project Altis, it has 4K support, new species, new cogs, and a whole new gag track, it's early beta but it's pretty fucking cool.

I haven't played it in a long time, but I'm pretty sure all of the base game works, stuff is slightly different though, TTC is completely remade, cogs go to level 50 (I think), etc.

Did TTR get a lot more buggy?

I kept getting out of bounded in the cashbot mint.
