At first I thought that it was kind of a dick move not allowing Nintendo to support the game, but thinking about it it's more than reasonable, the gameplay that showed us in the e3 had graphics that any Nintendo console could handle unless downgrade, let alone the ram it could consume that. I will get it for PC, but what itches me the most about MHW is that now is cannon fodder for console wars, while MH doesn't deserve that.
Now, about MHXX, I'm quite worried about it, since I don't know if it will ever get a translation soon. I want to play it but I just don't know anything about eastern moonrunes. Also, I don't know if, if they release it to the west, they will release it also for the 3DS.

You realise that before World the Glaive acted as more of a weapon to vault from right?
As in no aerial movement beyond going up find then going down.
Same for the style, roll on an enemy, jump up and straight back down.

Looks like dropping the rock on the monster only did about as much as a barrel bomb, which is whatever. Especially if it doesn't scale into higher difficulties.

Really my only worry is the grappling hook making evasion easymode but it looks like a lot of rooms don't have grapple points at all in the first place.

To be fair, MGS is a series that's had significant changes to its gameplay with each installment, so saying that it's the same game at its core is kind of a true statement in that it's still a stealth game that you can action your way out of if you want. Looking back at the franchise, no single main entry has been nearly as close to the other as the MonHun games have been.

In the end in Gen, the best style for most weapons was still Guild/Striker (the only exceptions really were Aerial for IG and against tall/flying monsters with Hammer) and the best Hunter Arts were the straight damage boosts like Demon Riot and Enraged Guard. In the end most of the fancy shit didn't effect the game much, my only gripe is how armor skills and deviant monsters were handled.

Well, at its core, MHX is still a monhun game, they messed with the fundamentals less than they did in MHW. The problem is that they attached so much new shit to the games that they kind of lost their identity in the process. Well the thing about guard points is that they let you keep up the aggression while tanking attacks, so it's more of an offensive tool than a defensive one. Still, yeah, I hope lance and GL get more than what was shown in the gameplay trailer. We barely got to see anything new.

That's probably the biggest issue MHW might have outside of casualisation - very few monsters. This would make the game unsalvageable and last only for a month or two before people who never cared about the series in the first place move to something else. Even better, Capcom could choose to make some monsters available only through paid DLC, since it's the standard on Sony and Microsoft consoles.

They didn't show off that you can transfer your charge into the hammer, which is a pretty big game changer honestly. Also, DB's soaring attacks are jumping attacks, which weren't really shown in this gameplay demo.

I think, at the very least, each weapon got 3 new moves:
New jumping attack
New sliding attack (hammer's sonic spin)
New regular attack
But I'm sure there's more attacks all around that we just don't know about.
