Odyssey looks like a completely fresh take on 3D Mario with unique mini quests everywhere, interesting movement and world variety that isn't pulled from NSMB 1, 2, Wii and Wii U. Its gimmick isn't stupid and it's not limited by its time or controller method. If BotW is a 97, Odyssey deserves 110.

Double item boxes without fixing the item system is the main problem. You can pick up a low place item while holding or using a bullet, which means you'll be carried by the game to a middle spot with a golden, star or even lightning. The system makes front running almost useless.
There can also be three bullets in use at the same time, unlike any other game, and there can be three lightnings (not exclusive to Deluxe version).

Mario Kart 8 is also bad because
>barely any driving techniques to differentiate skill levels (snaking, wheelies, fire hopping, spin drifts etc.)
>red shells are almost impossible to trick, as well as introducing coins so you just have to pray that you pull something defensive
>way fewer off-road shortcuts than for example Mario Kart Wii. Can only use obvious shortcuts implemented by designers
