I remember a scene where this clan that is impervious to weapons are training to be impervious to bullets and these guys expect some chi scroll to heal their wound and end up dying.

That's because before he got infested by Hollywood he believed that a fight scene was way cooler if there was less cuts showing off a continuous fight. Remember that hallway scene in Daredevil everybody was gushing about on Netflix? Well imagine that for almost every single movie Jackie Chan made. You can really tell that Jackie Chan got lazy and corrupted in Shanghai Knights when he started using way more cuts. Before he went international he was famous for making his actors rehearse over and over again until the choreography was fucking perfect. Not so in Shanghai Knights.
