As someone who was crazy crazy hyped for it, and a lover of GUST, I was disappointed.
The game didn't do much of anything to keep you interested and the structure is both all over the place and super limited and barebones.

Welcome to modern Japanise games.

I still cant tell if its intentional or if Japanese developers just dont spend any time on programing a difficulty curve.
Like if you can beat the game that's good enough no further programing needed.

Gust does occasionally throws you a somewhat more difficult true final boss.
But its not reload 3 times till you beat him like older SMT games and Some FF games used to be hard.

GUST is not "AAA" so I dunno where you got that from.
Plus it would have been great if the difficulty wasn't warped, and the dungeons were actual fucking dungeons. A little more personality in the world would have been great, even though it would kinda ruin the whole mood of the game.

Modern western games at lest have an option for harder difficultly.

People tend to think everything is getting casulised nowadays.
But try any newer AAA game that is somewhat good and play it on hardest difficulty and you will find that a lot of games are in fact challenging.

I remember playing Uncharted 3 on Crushing difficulty.
It was borderline Ninja Gaiden Black hard.

Western games may nto be as hard as before but you can acualy unintentionally fuck up in them and die even the easier ones.

Problem whit most (not all exceptions do exist) Japanese games is that you have to intentionally fuck up to die.

As for JRPGs i do agree there are exceptions Like Tokio mirage acualy had super hard bosses.
But most of them are super easy noways.
Especially action ones or Musou games.

This is why i also drooped plying Knight of Azure.

I bought a Used WIIU.

Tokyo mirage has 8/10 game play.
But story and charters is 4/10.

Story is super generic and characters are as cliche as you get.

In fact if the game play was not so great id drop the game.

I also like how despite the musk not being done by Shoji Meguro still sounds like actual SMT music most of the time.
