The Infinite Stratos comparison isn't fair at all. The fact that Remix Heart isn't a harem completely changes the character dynamics and the protagonist's characterization. Yes, Mai and her friends engage in certain high school activities, but there is an emphasis on Mai's character arc as she tries to adjust to life as a girl outside of her noble family and to overcome her inability to trust others and her lack of self-worth instilled to her by her father. The Infinite Stratos protagonist is just a dumb blank slatethere for the girls to fight over and for the viewer to self-insert as. Also there Remix Heart does have a climax where the characters have to confront and foil an adversary who threatens to kill everyone at the academy.

And Mai's second manga is an action series that isn't set at the academy at all and introduces information on Legacy Weapons, PFDs and involves Sector Seven, the Zero Squadron and the Hazuki family.

You also neglected to mention that Mai has some of the best neutral of the entire cast with fast attacks with good reach, very high mobility, excellent defenses due to her having multiple strong anti-airs, a pseudo-backdash that has foot invuln from frame one and full invuln from frame 4, a projectile that can change trajectory to home in on the opponent and is special/super cancellable on hit, multiple ways to set up safejumps for deep jump-in/empty jump low mix-up, the ability to whiff cancel her attacks meaning she's less disadvantaged than anyone else if she fucks up her spacing/gets baited into whiffing a normal, and an overall high damage output. (And that's not even covering everything)

There's a reason she's generally ranked around the same tier as characters like Tsubaki, Valkenhayn, and Makoto. (A tier)

Jona, probably the best NA Valk player, dual mains Valk and Mai 'cause she's a legitimately strong character that covers a lot of Valk's bad match-ups. She's not this trash-tier waifufag character that you seem to think.

If I had any idea how to play a better neutral as Wagner, I would. Lag doesn't help but I kept eating those overheads anyway. Fun stuff.
