Recent patch allows you to only get pick up items for certain rarities. If you want to ignore any white/yellow/blue/purples, you can. In NG+ you quickly only want to bother with divine (green) stuff anyway. DLC2 also added a rarity above divine, that's red. Only unlocks after ng++ though. Weapons have different stats because they have different properties, that you can tune to create the ultimate wmd as you want it. Better that than only have maybe a dozen different weapons per type and they're all exactly the same except for their level.

That changes in NG+ when you unlock divine gear. But even then you can only pick up stuff that goes up to level 150, and NG+ is a lot easier than NG.

Yeah I did say that. There are MMOs on consoles with surprisingly good control schemes. If Sony is publishing a game and has such a big franchise making it exclusive could have been a good economic move to push their console. I play FFXIV on PC with a Dualshock 4.

Also Helldivers is a twin stick shooter which tends to be better on the platform with twin sticks as the native control scheme. The fact it moves to PC is pretty cool. There's always a chance we could see Nioh but nobody will know for sure unless Koei informed us about it, we can only hope.

You literally equip whatever sword/armor has the highest attack/defense and press r2 to select all other items and either sell/dismantle them at the blacksmith, or offer them to the shrine for extra elixers.

Works a lot better than just about every other game I can think of with randomized loot other than maybe Amalur.

I'd still personally prefer it on PC regardless. It was actually my system seller for my PS4. I don't regret the purchase but PC will always be my platform of choice.

Even if theres logic tied to the frame rate I could still benefit from increased resolution, a potebtially more consistent 60, and more controller variety. There would be a good chance for more graphics options as well. I like customization. Being able to turn off stuff like bloom and DoF, upped anti-aliasing, and G-Sync/Free Sync would ve a welcome addition for any potential stutter that could occur.

The levels range from small to big and do reward exploration for going off the beaten path to find collectibles or treasure chests, but it can also be incredibly stupid.

Almost every area has a big door that doesn't open from this side right next to the shrine, and after the first few levels vertical space generally isn't used well ans the enemy variety gets pretty damn repetitive fast.

It's Dark Souls 2 tier. Surprise attacks out the ass, forcing you to move slowly. Items hidden behind clunky platforming. Levels mostly linear, but contain a bunch of optional nooks and crannies. It's not mechanically bad, just uninspired.

As far as I'm concerned the visual design is what makes it so bland. The low fantasy feudal Japan look is just boring. I haven't finished the game yet, but so far there's been very little scenery that's actually nice to look at. It's always raining and dark and muddy and someone keeps setting all the houses on fire.

I'm also curious what Onmyo Blaster is. What I've been doing is stacking elemental effects with Onmyo spells so that it leaves them locked out of Ki then I just mash them to death. It works alright so far but not so well on multiple enemies at once.

So it's just a more effective version of what I'm already doing with the base elemental shots. I'd been using Guardian Spirit Talismans to try to inflict a single status ailment immediately instead of needing to cast two or three shots.

Agreed in the boss theme department but Yamata-no-Orochi, Nobunaga and Kelly were all climatic as fuck.
Nobunaga was alright, Kelly was kinda tough and Yamata-no-Orochi was the biggest, badest Yokai in the game, fittingly fought and killed on the roof of a castle.

It could have been so much better, it really could. But it's still a climatic fight.
The game needed more of them, but otherwise it was pretty good.
I just hope the Maria fight and the Yellow Eyed woman fight will be as good in the next DLC.

No magic or ninja is alright and you can manage but certain missions are easier and they passives from those trees are needed at times, like the Elixer capacity boost from the Ninja tree.

The moveset I can understand because it can have pretty bad tracking up close in high stance, but it has deceptively long reach and overall really high ki damage. Even then its base damage is pretty comparable to single swords and most other weapons. It's definitely not lacking in DPS. Do you have a build that doesn't have good ki or good ki consumption reductions?
