The problem with this game was that it was too linear and repetitive, so it had to really too much on story and plot twists.

Problem with that is, anyone who's played video games for the past 10 years is already too used to all those twists. They've seen these story-driven games done before, and they've seen them done better. So they basically called all the plot twists before they got to them, and when they happened, went "Told ya so." Some of you are really young and maybe you never saw a game like this before, so to you it's the best thing ever. But to others, they've seen it done before, and better, so they're not really impressed. Especially when the gameplay is lacking.

That's Bioshock 1 and so is this. Colombia was an impressive concept that was ultimately a letdown because of it's small size. Rapture was both impressive and massive, a lot of the places you swim by at the start of the game you end up exploring.
