Thinking of doing a Persona marathon. Should I actually bother with the first two?
Anyone?

1 is pretty trash
but 2 is pretty good if you can suffer through slow combat
>>385699683
meh, just do 3 > 4 > 5 like god intended
The series starts at 3 so start there unless the idea of fighting Hitler as a boss interests you a lot

Yes, avoid the spin offs.
3 portable worth it? or just emulate FES

FES
>>385701215
Do not play P3P. It does not have any of the animated cutscenes that FES has.

Play 3,4,5 in whatever order you feel like. P1 and P2 are very different games.

You're gonna be busy for months unless you're a neet who can play it for 8+ hours a day. I also think you will be saturated after one game

Very much this
>>385701215
FES first, then P3P. FeMC changes lots of things about social links and character interaction in general, so it's worth another playthrough

you're forgetting the encounter rates in 2. woo lad. 1 had the same issue too, but as you said, it doesn't really hold up well desu

why would you want to waste 300 hours
Prepare to set aside many many MANY hours of your free time

If you can emulate, play FES. The better presentation is worth it imo. Just save scum for tough fights. If you can't emulate then play p3p.

Joining for some answers since many people that know Persona series are here.
I'm about to play Shin Megami Tensei IV Apocalypse on 3DS. Should I have some knowledge of previous games to fully enjoy it? Also is this port of something different, missing events etc?
Look up a wiki on 1, maybe 2 if you're turned off by slow combat, play 3, 4, the arena games, DAN if it interests you, and 5
