Any sort of improvement they could do would just be a newer tegra SoC, but even then that would run into compatibility problems. Other than that, a handheld/console only version would be interesting. Handheld-only model could be smaller with the joycons permanently attached (think screen size of an iphone 7). Console-only would basically look like the dock and would feature a larger internal memory + a pro controller. Both editions would run $200-250.

The joy cons were clearly designed to prioritize portability over comfort. Making a comfortable design would likely make them at least twice as wide and taller too. They are still better than any other handheld in their current form, but I don't see the point of trying to say they are in any way comparable to a standard controller. I would like to have joy cons that prioritize comfort, but I also would likely not be willing to pay for them. Anything that I would be playing serious would be played on the TV. Split joy cons are for taking it easy and relaxing, which they work well enough for.

Better dock design, so I don't feel like I'm playing Operation every time I dock/undock it, it's only a matter of time before I scratch the fuck out of the screen. the problem is putting it in the dock and getting it to display on my TV. I always have to put the switch in the dock then fine tune the position until the TV picks it up.
