You think so? I think it was a natural scene, given where Wakka's character was heading. He and Rikku had fought together as brothers-in-arms up to that point, and for him to discover Rikku's an Al Bhed right after an Al Bhed attack, it's only natural he'd lash out and rape and murder her in front of the entire party.

Though I will concede that it was a bit odd how he kept Rikku's shorts after that scene and kept sniffing them in the background during cutscenes for the rest of the game. You'd think he'd want to distance himself from anything Al Bhed made.

I have a legit question. How is it Wakka didn't know that Rikku was al bhed? Only up until she got caught speaking the language was he finally able to figure it out, even though the physically defining traits of that race stand out like a sore thumb in that world. It's like me hating niggers but when I walk down the road I don't know that the dark skinned people are the ones I am supposed to hate.
