I played it and was really unimpressed both visually and gameplay-wise, the characters all have wildly different kits but for some reason none of them felt fun to play to me, especially the medic.
Did Dirty Bomb improve since Thunder's (re)release ? It's one of the few games in that "genre" that I had fun with for a while.

yea backfiring with titan for rocketjumps or in zero G is pretty damn fun, he gives me the great feels that the TF2 soldier gave me.
especially in zero G you get a lot of those kills where you hit the target from a certain angle and have to predict their floating momentum.
it's basically all about Air Rockets while going fast with rocketjumps and blindfire in Zero G.
he is the only redeeming factor for me about this game.

This game is too hardcore, that's going to be its downfall. It's by far the most skilled, most competitive class-based shooter released since Team Fortress Classic; and that's its problem.

Gaming doesn't do skilled anymore. Gaming doesn't do competitive anymore. The movement in this game is obviously geared towards mouselook, and on PC I expect the playerbase to pull off some absolutely amazing plays. On PS4 though unless you really dedicate yourself, and I mean all your time to fine-turning the controls for yourself, you will always fall behind the opposition.

Which leads me to my next point: the game is too competitive. I understand that this is part of its identity, but you can't have casual fun in Lawbreakers. You can't just shoot the shit because EVERY mode is an objective based mode, and and due to the respawn timers if you let the opposition steamroll over your team then the rounds you play are going to be very, very short. The only way to get an extended session in Lawbreakers is to always give it your all, to always be on edge and always get frustrated when you die because there's no way to know how your teammates will perform without you; and thusly no way to know when the round will suddenly end because somebody on your team overlooked something. People will tell you that they play competitive games for fun; Lawbreakers is a game that doesn't let you play it for fun.

And that's the gist of it. The guns feel uniformly awsome, the map designs coupled with the anti-gravity movement system is superb; Cliffy B. reall outdid himself once again. Anybody looking for the most skilled team-play FPS on the market will obviously play Lawbreakers.

But that's noz a lot of people. For everybody else, Lawbreakers is just too dang hard.
