I like that Max agrees X's moveset isn't nearly as impressive as it should be, but that it's at least a competent moveset in the right hands.

It kinda sucks that because Zero uses a saber, his rushdown and in-air combos are so much more devastating than a ranged attacker who uses punches and kicks. On the other hand it's natural to the weapon style, so that was always going to happen.

X's moveset seems a little too safe or restrained, like they think that's what his character is, so his moveset should match it. It just makes me want to see a more RIP AND TEAR sort of interpretation of the character, at least in a fighting game context. The closest I see of that is the grab animation, which I thought was cool.

Even the figure looks better than the model, although it looks like they improved his face a little from the first gameplay trailer.

It even looks watered down in the gameplay department. Isn't the appeal of the marvel vs capcom series speed and over flashiness? I'm not a marvelfag but I would have definitely considered getting this game if it didn't seem like such a downgrade from 3 which is available again now

It's possible. I don't know how they expect to compete with MVC3, but one of the things my brother and I riff about when doing UMVC3 matches is the pandemonium of voices and attacks going on at once. We were hoping MVCI would cut down on that in favor of more intelligible action, but now I'm wondering whether we'd rather play 3 instead of Infinite.

I'm thinking Infinite has the potential of having the better roster in time, especially since I've been waiting for X and MVC3 on PC since 2011, and the Infinity Stones will be a similar optional gimmick like the special characters in MVC1.

I think MVC3 set that standard in the same way Symphony of the Night set the Metroidvania standard. In some ways it's better, but I'd rather they go back to their roots and just do what MVC great on it's own.

But to do that they'd have to hire Arcsys and fire their dubstep-loving music team.

Frank West got a fucking beam super in TvC where he dresses up as X. Now that they're in the same game, X doesn't get it because ... why?

His regular charged shots should just part of his normal moveset, especially his double charged shot, the one thing he should've had over Mega Man in any other Vs fighter. Instead of decent supers like a Giga Crush, a beam or two, or something original, they're wasted on an underwhelming armor change and charged shots. The only really good one with the charged B.Cutters and S.Slicers is strictly anti-air only.

You can only fuck up like this on purpose.
