>a walkthrough guide is required to avoid the bad end of a game
>you didn't notice until you're already halfway through the game and you're already on the way to the bad end
> game has upgrades you get to choose yourself
> game punished you for picking the wrong upgrades, making the last part of the game virtually impossible
>>385576374
I absolutely hate that.
>rpg has rts segments
>if you didn't hire one npc you miss on 600 archers for the rts part and your save is fucked
>>385576374
I honestly prefer to get the bad end first, don't like using a guide on first playthrough.
>be evil the whole way through the game
>pick the wrong dialogue choice by accident for one mission
>all evil karma is gone and there's nothing left to farm to get it back
>get a shitty nootrool ending
>>385576708
>not spending all your points into poison resistance and swimming
>the game can be rendered unwinnable without warning
>>385578673
How would that even be possible?
>>385576374
>The bad ending is actually the best ending
>>385576374
>having trouble with boss
>look up a guide
>"If you've been following this guide, this should be easy"
>>385576374
>not just taking the L
>games series has Hero and Villian endings
>Hero is always cannon
>>385580358
>You have to find a hidden item
>It's the only way to damage the boss
>>385580084
>turns out you have to fight "optional" bosses to get that ending
>>385579967
Accidental sequence breaking, being able to lose/sell key items, glitches that can cause you to skip over key events. It could happen on older offline games if they weren't playtested enough
>choice form the beginning of the game
>play for hours without any indication you're in the bad end already from that choice from before
>sudden bad end out of nowhere
>>385581073
Even better when the choice is something extremely mundane that shouldn't have any significance
>>385580358
>look up boss you're having trouble with
>recommended level: 36-38
>your party's level is at 25
>You have to new game+ to get the good ending

Bible Black.
>>385581530
Doesn't Higurashi do that a lot?
>>385580880
>It's probably not the canon ending
>>385581530
999 is awful for this.
>>385576374
>It's possible to be "too neutral" to get the neutral end of the game
>>385582836
How is this even possible?
>>385576374
This is just the worst.
>>385576708
>game has a bunch of seemingly useless skills
>you can actually beat the final boss with weird shit like dancing and decoration if you read the lore and play it smart
>but you didn't read the lore
>>385583229
It felt pretty good when all that naval skill paid off.
>>385582893
I forgot the exact details of it, but let's say the requirements to get the chaos end is to have -10 to neg infinity in your alignment points, the req get the law end is +10 to pos infinity, and the req to get neutral is -9 to +9. You get these points though your choices. If you've been keeping within the neutral bounds through the game ("too neutral") near the end of the route split the choice there give you too many points (like +10 for one/-10 for the other) that you're shunted out of neutral zone and into the other endings. The solution to this is to keep yourself law or chaos aligned until the route split and make the opposite choice so that you reach the number requirement for neutral.
tldr you have to contradict yourself and it's fucking dumb
>>385581210
>>385581530
This so much.
I played on recently where you could go through all the same dialogue but you won't get the good ending unless you can get one character to stop inserting into the conversation.
>>385582797
bitch you better take this fucking bookmark
>good equipment can be found on side paths
>if you miss a side path because you thought the main path was the side path and were just checking it out the game locks you out of the equipment forever
>>385576708
>game has a reputation and character traits system that levels by performing certain actions
>you can beat the final boss instantly by maximizing seduction
>he doesn't care if you're a dude
>it's possible to not grab a plot critical item and putting your game into an unwinnable state, which you won't find out about until hours laters
>>385576374
Tom's eye brow really make him cute
>never use a guide
>just YouTube the good ending if I want to
Catherine was particularly shit for this. If I remember right, it was all based on those fucking confessional rope pulls, which is dumb as shit.
>>385587257
Name 1 (uno) game
>>385589741
Literally the game in the picture, Moon Hunters.
It's not a great game.
>>385576374
I hate getting the good ending first. It feels far more rewarding to get the bad one and then the good one.
>>385576374
>Using guides
>>385580870
>Lore says it's the only item that can damage the boss and doesn't allow you to enter the fight without it
>if you use the built in cheat code to level select you can get to the boss and kill him with the most basic weapon there is
>>385580870
>You have to find a hidden item
>It's meant to be the only way to damage the boss
>You can beat the boss with regular equipment anyway if you try hard enough
>game has god-tier backstory in the form of written short stories
>they are missable
>>385576708
>game makes it so that when you level up you can upgrade any stat by 1
>game really desperately tries to railroad you into doing a Magic by making a bunch of enemies either resist or straight up block physical damage, it gets so bad the 2 of the bosses just straight up reflect it
>game gets rereleased and adds in a skill that pierces the immunities
>you can only get it in the extra dungeon that was added in the rerelease
>and even though the dungeon is available from the start, you can't complete it it one go, you need to unlock more areas in it by going through the main stories
>also you can get locked out of it you go to far into the story
>also if you do complete the dungeon, your forced into a certain ending
>also it doesn't even work on reflect, so it's straight up useless by the time you get it snce the boss that reflects is one of the last 3 bosses in the game sans the final boss by the time you finish the extra dungeon and no other boss after it blocks or resists it besides the final boss
>>385581737
You have to be a real dick or the most spineless motherfucker to get that ending though.
>>385582797
999 at least specifically allows you to go back and change your answer after you get one ending. Its actually designed to go for all endings fast after the first one you get, rather than requiring replays.
>>385592671
Is this Nocturne? It sounds to me like it's Nocturne.
>>385580923
>being able to lose/sell key items
this was a major problem in King's Field, none of the items had descriptions so I had no idea how important shit like the crystal vial or the Stargate were so I sold them

Yes, thank god the US version was the rerelease, although what's kinda weird when you consider Atlus USA gave us the first version of Persona 3 when FES was already out in Japan
>ruining the game for yourself by using a guide on your first playthrough
why do people do this?
>>385576374
>Persona 3
>get to 12/31
>have to decide on killing or sparing Ryoji
>thought killing him was the good end
>it's the bad end
>last save was 12/4
>>385592795
Maybe for the rerelease, but for the original, you had to go through the entire dialogue, cutscenes, puzzles, and all that stupid shit until you get to a choice. Granted you can fast forward it but it was still annoying
>>385593291
What made you think that?
>>385593291
He fucking tells you that everyone's going to die even if you kill him, you just won't notice it
i wonder who or why they made this movie, like everything could've been just an animated adaptation to (the first) willy wonka movie, tom and jerry can be taken out and wouldn't affect the story at all
>>385593291
>do this
>get a bad end and a credits sequence with a song whose lyrics now make no sense at all
>last shot is the usual gang of idiots at the karaoke
Was it worth it, mate?
