Who the fuck composed this garbage?
This is just random notes on piano
I miss Kondo
uh oh you'll awaken the wrath of the fanboys who will proceed to post tracks you collectively hear for 0.1% of the game
It's called ambience
I really like this, for the fact that it's mostly unnoticeable during gameplay.
>plebes want the overworld theme blaring at them for 100 hours

>acting smug
>over literally Nothing: The Soundtrack
>while forcing the worst case of false dilemma imaginable
How to spot actual plebs.
I like the hyrule field themes as much as the next guy, but having this repeat for 100+ hours is not gonna be fun. BOTWs music is very much welcome for the type of exploration you do.

You spend a lot of time in the overworld, dude

Pro tip: Don't design a game that's going to have 100+ hours spent in a zone that's so disengaging the music has time to repeat and get annoying.

But that's what already happens in the game, the difference is that it's a handful of crappy piano ditties instead of anything memorable.
Call me crazy here, but maybe different locations could have different overworld music? Instead of just having the generic theme and cold theme? But I'm probably asking too much from the developers who thought it was acceptable that all 120 shrines have the same music and aesthetics. Variety is not their forte.

someone gave an ok to this. how?
it looks like a remake of the crazy bus theme, what a cluster fuck

>different locations could have different overworld music?
They do.
>>385578450
>disengaging
I don't think you know what that means.

It fits for the kind of game BotW is. Granted, BotW's a bit shit so i guess I'm not really proving you wrong here. But honestly, it does fit the mood in context.
>>385574734
I don't understand. I genuinely liked it.

To release or detach. Antonym of engage.
Used here to describe a game vacant of elements that engage the player - to the point that prolonged exposure to a song would become an annoyance. An issue not commonly expressed by fucking anyone for any other entry in the franchise because Kondo was conscious of the effect and made efforts to avoid it without rendering his soundscape void of music.
You sure you're not retarded?
>>385578631
>They do
They don't.
There's the generic field theme, the cold theme, and the desert theme. There's also some contextual themes but they're so forgettable and blend together so much you'll barely realize they exist. There's 15 regions in the game and you spend most of the game listening to those themes. They get old.
It even sounds like the person playing slips and fucks up around :27. It's like some kid pressing random keys. There's no recognizable melody, no rhythm. An ambient/atmospheric soundtrack can still be memorable and sound like decent music.

I like it.

>Used here to describe a game vacant of elements that engage the player
But that's completely wrong.

hmmm.

I unironically really like BoTW's soundtrack and would buy it instantly if it ever had an official release.

It can be comfy when it wants to

It makes me sad that some people don't like it.

I think it's a pretty subtle soundtrack most of the time, but I also think when it shines, it shines really bright. You can tell it was composed by the same guy doing animal crossing though.
