Make no mistake anons. The VITA was never dead. It just never had a chance to thrive in the west. The Vita sold 15 million units, thats a decent chunk of market share. It's literally perfect for Japan though.

Vita has serveral strong selling points but I'd wager to your average Jap consumer/seller the most important are:
-Easy to pick up cheap used.
-Huge market for physical(brand new) copies.
-Less strict dev rules allowing for more lewd games. (I mean, look at all those VNs in the pictures the anon posted.) Way better than the 3DS.
-Easy to dev for including cheap dev kits, allowing japanese developers to make whatever the hell they want. Until recently though, you could also just dev on a retail console.

This console was just not made with the whaitu piggus in mind.

Thanks. Seems like both my Vita and PS TV are of a higher version. Once I bought both I wanted to link them to my account, which had PSN+, so I suppose that updated all the machines. Plus I think after logging in the systems force an update before you can even access the store which I needed to in order to buy some games and also to use the PS4 to Vita streaming which I enjoy when I want to play Bloodborne on the porch. We already had Henkaku offline since the release of the CFW. This Enso shit is just a installer to make some things easier and permanent.

This was years and years ago, before henkaku was even a thing and before the Vita was officially kill. I was hoping Sony would give it some love for those who aren't into weebshit, but nope.

PSP lived a way better life than the Vita did, and none of these games got ported until after the system died so you actually had a reason to own it. Memory cards were affordable and micro SD adapters were available much earlier.

I just got a Vita and it has 3.60.

I installed henkaku and I've been playing digimon world next order with the english patch.

Sadly this is the japanese version and it's really easy, the western one (which is ps4 exclusive) is way harder and overall more fun. There's no way to gimp yourself either, you will be killing bosses in 2 hits no matter what. It's a shame because it's a pretty good game but the difficulty ruins it.

Has anyone played this version of the game? Does it get more fun? I might just wait for a good sale and buy the PS4 version.

The japanese version was released in march 2016. NA and PAL versions were released in 2017. When the game came out in Japan the japs complained about the game being too easy so the devs tried to balance it for the western versions. Apparently the western version is too hard and people often recommend playing on easy which is like the japanese hard mode.

They also added more content for the western versions. Japs got screwed hard with this game.

I'm stuck between getting 3 things as a portable option. Either a Vita, 3DS, or a cheap laptop that has a CPUbench single thread score of around 1800+ for maxing out PS2 era emulation and obviously easily maxing out everything before PS2.

The plus of the Vita for me is mainly P4G and other JRPG's and the whole PSP and PS1 library with hacks. The plus for the 3DS is essentially the same but for FE and Nintendo exclusives. The plus for a cheap laptop is so many more games to emulate and being able to play some AAA modern games at low settings low resolution. I'll probably wait until black friday and see what kind of discounts there are for 3DS's and laptops. The Vita seems really great but the library for me is even more limited than the 3DS, P4G and MGS HD collection are really the only major games I'd want.

The weapon crafting can be tricky but once youve found a late bloomer and a few decent mods you should be good. Also equipping your accessory with decent gear helps. Preferably hitscan weapons since it IS a bot. Some elements and weapon types shit on certain abductors. Once you figured it out youre gold.
